Burna Boy will be putting out his seventh studio album next month titled, “I Told Them…” slated for release on August 25. The Nigerian artist has been making headlines as of late, most recently as the first-ever African artist to sell out a stadium in the United States after performing at New York’s CitiField Stadium on July 8, a show that saw 41,000 attendees fill out the space. The same month, he also became the first African artist to headline a stadium in the United Kingdom following his historic show at the London Stadium.

Drake has been identified as the buyer of a gold, ruby, and diamond crown ring that Tupac Shakur wore during his final public appearance. He paid $1,016,000 for it at a Sotheby’s auction, according to a press release. The late Shakur designed the ring himself and wore it to the MTV Video Music Awards in early September 1996.
Shakur’s ring was expected to sell for at least $200,000 but ended up surpassing that estimate. The auction was the third in a Sotheby’s series dedicated to articles from the world of hip-hop in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the genre.

South-African-actress-turned-Hollywood star Thuso Mbedu has shown her solidarity for the Hollywood writers’ strike and joined the picket line. Mbedu posted on her Instagram Stories a picture of herself holding a SAG-AFTRA on strike board and tagged her location as Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood.
The action began in May after 11,000 unionized TV and movie writers declared a strike after failed negotiations with production companies. The Writers Guild of America’s decision to carry out the first industry-wide strike since 2007 comes after the collapse of weeks-long negotiations with production companies over writer compensation and other issues, such as the use of artificial intelligence in scripts.

In another giant stride for Nigerian music, international megastar and multi-platinum-selling artist Wizkid sold out the Tottenham Stadium in a landmark show. On July 29, over 60,000 people reportedly turned out to watch the Grammy winner in his first stadium headline show in the United Kingdom. The show is one of the stops for Wizkid’s tour of his fifth album “More Love, Less Ego” which he dropped in November 2022.
In the landmark concert, Wizkid performed songs from his last album including several classic records that soundtracked his rise to the top of the industry. Nigerian Neo-Highlife group The Cavemen performed at the event while also serving as a support band for Wizkid.
5. PSG sign goalkeeper Arnau Tenas from Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain have signed free agent Arnau Tenas from Barcelona. The Parisians have been reportedly in the market for a goalkeeper after Sergio Rico suffered a life-threatening injury during a horse-riding session this year. Tenas played the entirety of the last season with Barca B and also featured in Spain’s final run in the U21 Euros, where Spain lost 1-0 to England. PSG were also reported to be in contention for Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou as the Spaniards looked to sell assets after their Europa League win due to financial constraints. However, the signing of Tenas may rule out Bounou’s signing.
“First and foremost for what it is. It’s a great club, as are the people who are part of it. I wanted to be part of this project, which is global in its nature. I’m very happy to be here,” Tenas said to the club’s website when asked why he chose PSG. “I already knew [coach Luis Enrique] from the past. I played for him with the national team. It’s true that I know him a little, but everyone knows that he is a top coach!” Tenas is expected to be a third-choice keeper for PSG behind Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas.
