Singer Victoria Monet recently shared an image of herself performing at Coachella on her Instagram stories and opened up about the changes in her body due to her PCOS diagnosis. She wrote above the photo that she had “gained a lot of weight,” adding, “I usually am so critical and frustrated by it because PCOS has me really messed up, but optimistically at least now there’s two moons on the stage,” She added a crying face emoji. Monet detailed the changes in her body and said, “It [the weight] went a lot of places lol face, arms, tummy and most effectively… datassss.”
Statistically, 1 out of 10 women who are of childbearing age are affected by the reproductive hormonal imbalance. PCOS can cause problems with the menstrual cycle and can lead to the formation of multiple ovarian cysts. It can also cause infertility because of complications the hormonal imbalance causes in the ovaries, according to the Office on Women’s Health. In addition to weight gain, symptoms of PCOS can include irregular or absent periods, excessive facial hair, and acne. Victoria Monet is handling her PCOS diagnosis with grace. Plus, the way she’s transparent about her struggle with PCOS can hopefully make other women who deal with it kinder to themselves about the effects.

Nigerian Youtuber and social media entrepreneur, Clara Chizoba Kronborg, has broken the Guinness world record for the longest interviewing marathon with a time of 55 hours 24 seconds. The Guinness World Records (GWR) announced this via a post on its website on Wednesday. The previous record was 37 hours 44 minutes which was achieved in 2022 by Rob Oliver from the United States of America. Renowned for hosting a talk show on YouTube, she interviewed 90 people of various nationalities and occupations, including politicians, business owners, content creators, actors, and real estate agents among others.
The GWR said the conversations were centered on how each guest achieved success in their respective field. “This record attempt was about bringing together diverse individuals, sharing their inspiring narratives, and forging meaningful connections on a global scale. I am committed to amplifying voices, particularly those of hardworking women, and using their stories to inspire others facing similar challenges,” she said.

On April 24, President of the United States of America, Joe Biden signed a bill into law that could mean the end of TikTok in the United States. According to reports, ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns the social media app, must sell it off within nine months or have it banned from the country. Members of Congress believe that TikTok’s data could be shared with China, which would create a danger to homeland security. Despite this, Biden’s 2024 presidential campaign will continue to use the popular platform.
TikTok responded to the news in a statement on Twitter, calling the law “unconstitutional.” The message also confirmed that the company will challenge the potential ban in court. “The fact is, we have invested billions of dollars to keep U.S. data safe and our platform free from outside influence and manipulation,” the statement read. In a video, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew echoed those sentiments and called the move a “disappointing moment.”
4. Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction overturned in New York
Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction has been overturned by a New York appeals court.
New York’s highest court found the judge in Weinstein’s trial had shown prejudice by allowing women to testify about allegations that were not part of the case.

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction in New York has been overturned, on the basis that he did not receive a fair trial. The New York Court of Appeals said prosecutors in the pivotal #MeToo case called witnesses whose accusations were not part of the charges against him. The court said that meant he was unfairly tried for past behavior, and ordered a new trial. He remains in prison. Weinstein was separately convicted of rape in LA.
The court reached a 4-3 ruling on Thursday, stating that the trial “erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes.” The decision also said the trial judge compounded the error by letting Weinstein be cross-examined in a way that portrayed him in a “highly prejudicial” light. “The remedy for these egregious errors is a new trial.” Judge Madeline Singas, one of the dissenters, however, said that with the decision, “this Court continues to thwart the steady gains survivors of sexual violence have fought for in our criminal justice system.”
5. FIFA announces deal with Saudi oil company Aramco
FIFA announces a partnership with Saudi state-owned oil firm Aramco. Deal until 2027 meaning Aramco will be an official sponsor of the 2026 men’s World Cup and 2027 Women’s World Cup.

FIFA has announced a partnership with Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company, Aramco. The deal is in place until 2027, giving Aramco sponsorship rights for the men’s World Cup in 2026 and the Women’s World Cup the following year. The company already has sponsorship deals within Formula 1 and is a partner of the International Cricket Council. “Aramco has a strong track record of supporting world-class events, but also a focus on developing grassroots sport initiatives,” said FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
The partnership means the Gulf kingdom continues to increase its influence on global sports. Saudi Arabia has been accused by critics of investing in sport and using high-profile events to improve its international reputation—a process that has been labeled “sportswashing.”
