1. Burna Boy hints at the possibility of a joint album with J Hus

Burna Boy has hinted at the possibility of a collaboration album with British-Gambian rapper J Hus. Burna Boy revealed this during his recent interview with Shopping For Sneakers. While answering questions about his latest album “Love, Damini” which was released on Friday, July 8th, the megastar was asked how Track 3 “Cloaks & Daggers” featuring J Hus came about. The Grammy winner revealed that the single was recorded barely two weeks before the album’s release. He further shared that he has a good relationship with J Hus with whom he currently has four collaborations.

When asked if there might be a collaboration album between himself and J Hus someday, Burna Boy answered in the affirmative. The Grammy-winning African Giant was then asked whether he and J Hus have talked about it, to which he responded that while they don’t talk often, they maintain a very good relationship and will always make magic happen whenever they link up.

2. Kanye West pulls out as Rolling Loud Miami headliner

Barely a week before the three-day Rolling Loud Miami festival was set to take place, Kanye West pulled out. His replacement will be Kid Cudi. According to reports, the festival’s founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler issued a statement about Ye’s sudden withdrawal as a headline performer. Grammy Award-winning Kid Cudi will blaze the stage on Friday, July 22, the first of the three-day extravaganza.

Ye appeared to be ecstatic about the performance and even urged Rolling Loud to reveal the July 2022 lineup at 8:20 p.m. on a Tuesday. They had planned to announce it days later. Cherif said under a Rolling Loud IG post that he “tried to convince Ye to stay on the lineup but he wasn’t having it.” Right now, it’s unsure why Ye decided to not perform.

Congratulations are in order for SA’s young and favorite couple Hungani and Stephanie Ndlovu, who recently announced they are expecting a bundle of joy. The couple revealed not so long ago on their YouTube channel “The Ndlovus Uncut” that they went through a very difficult period when they miscarried eight weeks into pregnancy during the lockdown.

Taking to their Instagram timelines, they announced the good news by sharing snaps from their maternity shoot with Stephanie visibly showing the baby bump. Stephanie shared a Bible verse that best described this moment in her life. When the couple opened up about the loss of their unborn child, they revealed the procedure they had to do after the miscarriage took its toll on them as they were not mentally prepared.

4. Ghana confirms first cases of deadly Marburg virus

Ghana has confirmed its first two cases of the deadly Marburg virus, a highly infectious disease in the same family as the virus that causes Ebola. It says both patients died recently in a hospital in the southern Ashanti region. Their samples came back positive earlier this month and have now been verified by a laboratory in Senegal. Health officials in the West African nation say 98 people are now under quarantine as suspected contact cases. These include relatives, medics, and mortuary workers who came into contact with the two patients.

This is the second time that Marburg has been identified in West Africa. There was one confirmed case in Guinea last year, but that outbreak was declared over in September, five weeks after the case was discovered. The World Health Organization (WHO), which is supporting Ghana’s health authorities, has praised the country’s swift response.

5. Lewandowski transfers to Barcelona from Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski is officially a Barcelona player, with a €50 million (£42m/$51m) transfer from Bayern Munich being completed, and the Poland international striker has been explaining why a new challenge is being taken on at 33 years of age. After eight memorable years in Germany that delivered 344 goals and 19 trophies, a two-time winner of the FIFA Best Award is ready to start afresh at Camp Nou.

Staying at the Allianz Arena and seeing out the final year of his contract there would have been the easy option for Lewandowski, while various clubs expressed interest once it became apparent that he would be on the move this summer, but a modern-day great say Catalunya was the only destination for him.

Speaking to the club’s official media, Lewandowski has said of his decision to link up with La Liga heavyweights: “I’m here to help the club return to the top and win as many titles as possible. I have always wanted to play in a great La Liga club and this is a great opportunity for me. It is also a challenge for my private life. I am a player who always wants to win. We have great players, with a lot of quality, in the squad. I am excited about what we can all achieve together.”
