A few days ahead of his Super Bowl LVIII performance, Usher has announced that he’ll be going on a US tour. The run is officially dubbed the Past Present Future Tour and will commence on August 20, kicking off at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour will see the R&B singer make stops in major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Atlanta, Detroit, and Miami. It’ll wrap up in Chicago with a final show at the city’s United Center on October 29.

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ruger has officially announced his departure from Jonzing World record label through an official statement. The announcement was made by Ruger himself on his Instagram page on, Tuesday, February 6, where he expressed gratitude to his mentor and label boss, Dprince, for the support and belief in his talent throughout his tenure with the label.

Despite the sadness of parting ways with Jonzing World, Ruger emphasized his readiness to take a bold step forward in his career. He revealed his intention to launch his record label, named Blown Boyent, indicating a new phase in his musical journey. Acknowledging the pivotal role played by Jonzing World and Dprince in his artistic growth, the “Asiwaju” conveyed his appreciation while expressing confidence in his ability to navigate the path ahead with God’s guidance.

3. Jonathan Majors’ domestic violence sentencing gets postponed

The domestic violence sentencing for Jonathan Majors that was scheduled for January 6 has been postponed. This comes after he was found guilty of assault and harassment in December against his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, with whom he was embroiled in an alleged domestic dispute. Majors could face up to one year in prison. In December, the “Loki” star was acquitted on two other charges of aggravated harassment and another assault charge.

Sub-Saharan African artists are nominated for the 2023 Tiktok Top Creator Awards. The Tiktok Top Creator Awards for Sub-Saharan Africa in 2023 will be its second edition. The award ceremony is scheduled for February 9, at Vodaword in Midrand, Johannesburg. Over 10 creators, musicians, media houses, and lifestyle curators were nominated in numerous categories. Asake, Adekunle Gold, Khaid, and many others are among the nominees

5. Footballer Dani Alves’s rape trial begins in Spain

Former Barcelona and Brazil football player Dani Alves has gone on trial in Spain after being accused of raping a woman in a nightclub. The 40-year-old has been in prison without bail for more than a year since the alleged incident took place in December 2022. Alves could face up to 12 years in prison if found guilty. He first denied having met his accuser, but later said they had had consensual sex. His trial ends on Wednesday. More than 30 people, including Dani Alves and his estranged wife, are expected to testify.

The Barcelona court on Monday denied his request to suspend the trial so that he could be given more time to prepare, rejecting his claim that he had suffered a trial by media. Alves’s accuser was among those to give evidence on the first day of the trial, speaking from behind a screen to protect her identity.
