ebruary is traditionally the month of love and with Valentine’s Day a little over a month away and new cases of the Covid-19 variant climbing up, we’re realizing that creative date ideas are needed now more than ever. For lovers, the question of where to go, what to do, and what to wear on V-Day may be causing a bit of anxiety. But no worries! That’s where we put on our superhero cape to save the day. Valentine’s Date Ideas.

After the Christmas and New Year holidays, Valentine’s Day is the first major occasion of the new year to plan something special for you and your partner. In these times, we’ve become accustomed to all the limitations we’re faced with. Thus, these limitations have meant thinking outside the box (and mostly inside your home) for everything from day-to-day living to planning for special or romantic occasions. Despite the uncertainties, creating memorable moments while looking stylish is still very much attainable.

Here are 5 Valentine’s Day date ideas and how to dress for them…

#1. Have a picnic

If you both prefer to stay at home (seeing that most outdoor picnic venues would be crowded), you can pack up your picnic basket and head to the living room (in cold regions) or your backyard (in warmer climate) to have yours. When it comes to picnic-style, be sure to wear free-flowing, comfortable clothing that allows you to sit and get up easily.

#2. Romantic dinner for two

Light the candles at home or reserve a table at your favorite restaurant and arrive in style for dinner. Most of us have not had the opportunity to dress up in a long while, so don’t let this opportunity pass you by. A dress, average high heels, and the right accessories would seal the deal. Just glam up a bit for this special day and watch him want to eat you up with his eyes.

#3. See a movie

Whether you decide to head out to cinemas—if they are open in your city—or you decide to pick a series of romantic classics to watch at home, it’s a date, so you should look good as you spend that precious time with your partner. A casual and relaxed look is the best option. Athleisure wear or other relaxed fits work well as long as they are elevated with the right accessories. If you’re watching the movie at home, be sure to wear a cuddle-friendly outfit as we never know how things may progress. Valentine’s Date Ideas.

#4. Have a private karaoke

Just because you are staying home doesn’t mean you can’t have all the fun you want. For an in-house karaoke, make a list of your favorite songs and just sing along as the songs blast from the speakers. Put on a performance for your boo. For goodness sake, be his Beyoncé or Rihanna and watch him light up. Be sure to have made your favorite cocktails as you sing away. You want to get dressed for this just the way you would have dressed up if you were going out into town but a bit toned down.

#5. Cooking class

You can spend your time together by learning to prepare a new dish you both love or each other’s favorite dish. With online videos in abundance or with the help of an experienced chef, this is sure to be a fun activity.

For this, your outfit can be a little more casual in preferably muted colors as you don’t want stains on your bright-colored blouse. Even though you love your height in heels, it is advisable to wear flat shoes for better comfort during the romantic cooking session.
