Russell Westbrook, a member of the Los Angeles Lakers who was born and raised in California and has previously played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Washington Wizards, has just announced on his Instagram the opening of his first Honor the Gift ready-to-wear store this coming Saturday, September 24.

The athlete installed his store at 130 North La Brea Avenue, the same location where rapper Drake constructed his store October’s Very Own (OVO) in 2015. Westbrook’s store is a 2300-square-foot area that is well known to the entire streetwear scene in Los Angeles and is located next to the renowned Union store.

According to Westbrook, Honor the Gift, his ready-to-wear line that was announced in September 2017, is “the story of a boy from the Inner City of Los Angeles.” The father-of-three further stated that it is “a company built on the conviction that you can achieve greatness no matter what obstacles stand in your way.”

The winter 2022 collection, dubbed “District,” which was inspired by the Unified School Districts of Los Angeles and will commemorate the first two “Private & Public” collections that were previously launched, will be unveiled on the occasion of the store’s opening. This collection includes vegan leathers, varsity jackets, graphic t-shirts, and heavy-weight cable knits for men, women, and kids.

The brand is already available in over 60 stores across the United States and is also carried by Selfridges in the UK, Juice Taiwan, Australia, Italy, Canada, South Korea, and on the Nordstrom online store. The store will be open to the public from noon to 4 p.m. Honor The Gift store

Off the court, Westbrook stated in July that his goal is to “build an enterprise,” adding that he has put a lot of effort into each of his endeavors to ensure their ability to safeguard the future of his family. The guard has previously made investments in real estate, education, advertising, and his main interest, fashion.
