This Saturday: Visions Opticals To Host “Women With Vision” With Didi Akinyelure, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe + Others

Visions Opticals is a Modern Optical Company that stocks a fantastic range of well-designed glasses, contact lenses and optical accessories. Come this Saturday, 17th of August, the brand will be hosting an event aimed at empowering women through conversations with leading women in various industries.

This event seeks to introduce Visions Opticals to a new audience, as well as empower women through the stories of leading women in their various career fields. The theme of the event is ‘Women with Vision.’ The Panel will have two sessions: Session one – VISUAL EYES (Redefine your Vision) and Session Two – EYE-DENTITY (Define your personal and professional brand). The event will hold at: Visions Opticals, The Palms Shopping Mall, Oniru, Lagos. Session 1: 12pm – 2pm Session 2: 4pm – 6pm

Panellists/Moderators at the event include:

Funke Bucknor-Obruthe who is an event planner and founder of Zapphire Events Group has earned her amongst Nigeria’s Industry Leaders. Her passion for innovation and excellence has built a leading wedding and Events brand that has delivered well over 1,500 successful events across the globe and has still remained relevant. Bukky Karibi-Whyte is a Communications and Special Events Expert, Public Speaker and an Entrepreneurial Coach. In 2007, she founded the Bobby Taylor Company, a Boutique Communications Agency that has evolved to become Robert Taylor Media. Bukky has been featured in various publications such as Forbes Africa, Business Day CEO, amongst other prominent publications.


Ehime Eigbe-Akindele is the founder and CEO of Sweetkiwi. She has a BA Honors from London Metropolitan University in Business Information Technology and International Relations. She was named one of Nigeria’s most inspiring women in 2016 and her company Sweetkiwi has been named one of the 100 most innovative business in Nigeria.

Olamide Agunloye is the CEO of Iconola the first ready to wear company in Nigeria. Incorporated in Nigeria, July 2006 as a fashion design and production business. Olufunke Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Lagos and a Master’s in Business Administration, MBA, from the Business School of Netherlands. Olufunke is a Group Head, Business Banking, Providence Bank. Olufunke is a very passionate and self-driven person with a strong interest in motivating and mentoring young people. Abiola Adekoya is a financial expert with about two decades of experience working in leading financial services firms across the globe. She is currently the MD/CEO of RMB Nigeria Stock Brokers, a subsidiary of the FirstRand Group. She has several passions and top on her list is mentoring young professionals.

Didi Akinyelure is an Award-Winning Journalist. She is an accomplished multimedia journalist with extensive experience working in television, radio, text and digital for the BBC, CNBC and Reuters News Agency. She has been featured in Forbes Woman magazine and included in a list of the world’s most influential business journalists and 100 most inspiring women in Nigeria.

Aramide Abe is an award-winning entrepreneur and the Executive Director of Naija Startups an entrepreneurship hub and support organization of 70,000+ member startups in Africa. Aramide is passionate about women empowerment and digital skills for youth and entrepreneurs. Mobowale Biobaku is the CEO of Mobos a fashion retail company established in 2001. Through the years, the company has grown to have four stores in high brow locations and luxury shopping malls across Lagos. Her exclusive range of garments and fashion places are designed in Nigeria and produced internationally while a certain percentage is produced in Nigeria.

Ozinna Anumudu is passionate about two things- fashion and branding. Zina founded TSC Agency which caters to creatives and businesses across industries. Her company is a brand strategy and communications consultancy that has made an impact in their Nigerian fashion industry with tailored services for the brand’s development.
