It was earlier reported that the Duchess of Sussex was joining forces with Bahrain-born fashion designer, Misha Nonoo, to bring designs for working women. Well, the clothing line looks like it is ready as Meghan Markle was seen at the fashion shoot for the new line.
According to Fashion Network, a video clip posted on the royal couple’s Instagram account on Wednesday showed Meghan meeting the models as they arrived for the shoot of the new workwear range – offering a sneak preview of brand’s designs.
The new clothing line was in collaboration with the London charity Smart Works, which helps long-term unemployed women look for jobs. In a July interview, Kate Stephens, Smart Works CEO had this to say:
“Our Smart Works family is flourishing under the Duchess’s patronage. We have dressed more women than ever before, and we have just had our best ever July, helping 27% more women across the UK than the same time last year. We want to help more women find their way to a Smart Works centre so that they may, in the words of the Duchess, be ready to take on the world, get a job and transform their lives.”
For this collection, Meghan also worked with Marks & Spencer, John Lewis & Partners, Jigsaw to design a capsule collection of more classic options for a workwear wardrobe.
In an earlier interview, Meghan said “taking the idea further, many of the brands agreed to use the one-for-one model: for each item purchased by a customer, one is donated to the charity. Not only does this allow us to be part of each other’s story, but it also reminds us we are in it together.”
The clothing line will be reportedly launched in September and we are definitely looking forward to seeing the pieces co-created by Meghan Markle.
