While fashion week runways are a great place to find style inspiration for men and women alike, let’s face it, sometimes the people whose style is most fun to ogle are celebrities and fashion influencers.
This week’s best dressed male celebrities and influencers across Africa stepped out in colourful street style attire, including sport suits, athleisure wear and other coordinating two-piece sets.
In Nigeria, TV presenter and influencer, Taymesan looked magazine-perfect in his vibrant ensemble. The comedian brought his A-game as he layered a cream suit jacket over a pink linen shirt. He wore matching pants for the jacket and completed the look with a pair of white platform loafers which perfectly complemented the suit. A set of layered necklaces, a pair of aviator sunglasses and a colorful scarf, worn as a babushka made up his gender-blurring styling.
Down south, we have South African rapper, Riky Rick gracing the runway at a Laduma Ngxokolo virtual New York fashion week showcase. Riky was seen wearing a set from the Maxhosa SS2021 collection. The runway look was styled with a ski mask, a pair of boat shoes, worn with a pair of stockings––another gender-blurring approach to menswear styling.
Last week, male celebrities across Africa took street style to another level and they sure didn’t play by the rule book.
