Lenny Kravitz is officially entering the Barbie universe as the brand’s newest Kenbassador, with Mattel releasing a collectible Ken doll modeled after the Grammy-winning musician. The September 17, 2026, release makes Kravitz only the second celebrity to receive the Kenbassador honor, following LeBron James’ debut in 2025.
The new doll arrives as Barbie celebrates Ken’s 65th anniversary, bringing Kravitz’s distinctive rock-star style into the collection. Priced at $70, the Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Lenny Kravitz doll is available through major retailers and recreates an outfit and accessories inspired by the musician’s recent Blue Electric Light Tour.
Mattel Welcomes Lenny Kravitz To The Kenbassadors Collection
Sculpted in Kravitz’s likeness, the new Ken features his trademark locs, tattoos, nose ring, and physique. The doll wears a bronze-colored mesh cowl-neck tank, boot-cut denim jeans, a studded belt, boots, and sunglasses, with a doll stand and Certificate of Authenticity included in the package.
The look was developed with close attention to Kravitz’s actual wardrobe. The musician said that the clothing replicates pieces he wore during his recent tour, down to the details of the boots, jeans, belt, and tops. The sunglasses are modeled after vintage frames from the late 1960s that he has been wearing, while the necklace is based on one that belonged to his mother, actress Roxie Roker.
Even the doll’s tattoos carry personal significance. Kravitz specifically praised the Barbie team for recreating the tattoo of his mother on his forearm, adding another personal detail to the collectible.

The new release is part of the Barbie Signature Kenbassadors Collection, which Mattel created to recognize influential men while celebrating Ken during his 65th anniversary year. LeBron James became the first Kenbassador in 2025, making Kravitz the second celebrity to join the collection.
“From his genre-defying music to his fearless approach to personal style, Lenny uses his platform to champion individuality while empowering others to do the same,” Nathan Baynard, Vice President and Head of Barbie at Mattel, said in a release. “We’re proud to honor his lasting influence on style and culture through this doll, giving fans a new way to celebrate an artist whose authenticity continues to inspire generations.”
Kravitz also addressed the significance of becoming a Kenbassador, recalling his childhood surrounded by Barbie dolls, G.I. Joes, and Kens.
“Barbie is an institution, and as a kid growing up, I could not have imagined this,” Kravitz said in a release. “To be chosen by Mattel as a Kenbassador, only the second one in history, is an honor and absolutely surreal.”
The Doll Captures Kravitz’s Current Era

Rather than drawing from one of Kravitz’s most recognizable looks from decades past, the collectible reflects where he is in his career now. The doll’s outfit is based on his Blue Electric Light Tour, which supported his 2024 album of the same name.
Kravitz has spent more than three decades moving between music and other creative fields. He broke onto the music scene with his 1989 debut album, “Let Love Rule,” and went on to become a four-time Grammy Award winner. His career has also included acting roles in films such as “The Hunger Games,” alongside work spanning fashion, design, production, and other creative disciplines.
The timing gives the doll a particular significance for Kravitz. His lengthy Blue Electric Light Tour recently wrapped after more than two years on the road, making the collectible a snapshot of an important period in his career.
“I’ve been touring for two and a half years now on this album,” Kravitz said. “We’re coming to a close. [The doll] marks this time and this tour, which has been really incredible for me.”
Lenny Kravitz’ New Ken Doll Is Already Drawing Attention

The Lenny Kravitz Kenbassador doll launched at $70 at major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and Target. However, availability has already begun to tighten, with Amazon’s direct inventory reported as sold out shortly after release while higher-priced reseller listings appeared.
The response echoes the collector interest surrounding LeBron James’ Kenbassador doll after its 2025 debut. That release sold out at retail and subsequently appeared on third-party resale platforms.
Kravitz’s addition also comes during a particularly active year for celebrity Barbie releases. Mattel has introduced personalized dolls honoring figures including Whitney Houston, Marilyn Monroe, and Kylie Minogue as part of its broader Signature lineup.
Lenny Kravitz’s Ken Era Has Arrived

For Kravitz, the collaboration represents more than another piece of merchandise. The doll preserves the visual language of his current touring era while bringing together elements of his music career, personal style, and family history.
Lenny Kravitz said he plans to send a ken doll to his daughter, Zoë Kravitz. For collectors, meanwhile, the release offers a chance to own a miniature version of one of rock music’s most recognizable figures.
With Ken celebrating 65 years and Kravitz now officially part of the Barbie universe, the Kenbassadors Collection has added another chapter to its growing roster of celebrity-inspired releases.
