Levi’s And Sacai Rework Four Classic Silhouettes For Their Latest Collection

Chitose Abe founded sacai in 1999 with a design philosophy built entirely around the idea that familiar things can be made unfamiliar through careful deconstruction. A shirt becomes a hybrid of two shirts. A jacket borrows from three silhouettes simultaneously. Nothing is simply what it appears to be at first glance. That tension between recognition and surprise is what has made Sacai one of the most consistently interesting fashion houses of the last two decades. That same philosophy defines the latest Levi’s x Sacai collection, the third chapter of a collaboration that continues to push classic denim into unexpected territory.
When sacai and Levi’s announced their first collaboration, the pairing made immediate sense: Levi’s owns some of the most recognizable silhouettes in the history of clothing, which made them exactly the right raw material for a designer who treats the familiar as a starting point rather than a destination.
The third Levi’s x Sacai collection arrives on September 29, 2026, with a 12-piece collection spanning men’s and women’s sizing across four core silhouettes, rendered in rigid and washed indigo. Prices range from $395 to $795. The collection follows the first collaboration in May 2025, which drew from James Dean’s spirit of curiosity and featured Chase Sui Wonders in the campaign, and the second, which debuted leather-hybridized denim jackets and flared jeans spliced with tailored trousers as part of sacai’s FW26 Paris show in January 2026. Each iteration has pushed the partnership further into Abe’s deconstructive territory. The third collection is no exception.
Four New Takes On Levi’s Classics

The Sherpa Jacket is the strongest piece in the lineup. A relaxed selvedge indigo shell is wrapped in faux sherpa, featuring genuine leather pocket detailing and collection-specific trims, with the men’s version adding side-seam pockets. It is a garment that exists in the space between workwear and outerwear, too considered to be purely functional and too relaxed to be purely fashion. The Blouson Jacket takes a cleaner approach, built around Sacai’s signature utility sleeve pocket, with elasticated cuffs and a sculpted shape. At the same time, the women’s version adds side-seam vents that alter how the jacket sits.
The bottoms follow the same logic. The Belted Wide Pants are cut from indigo selvedge fabric with a loose, mid-rise silhouette and specialty buttons on the belt loops. At the same time, the Belted Flare Pants introduce a seven-pocket construction that layers welt back pockets directly above traditional patch pockets, a detail that is architecturally unnecessary yet aesthetically essential, precisely the point. Every piece is designed to function as a standalone item or as part of a coordinated denim set. This versatility reflects Abe’s understanding that the most wearable clothes are the ones that work across multiple contexts.
How Sacai Keeps Reworking Levi’s Denim

Most fashion collaborations diminish over time. The novelty wears off, the creative tension resolves, and the third or fourth installment reads as a contractual obligation rather than a creative one. The Levi’s x Sacai collaboration has avoided that trajectory because Abe approaches each collection as a new design problem rather than a refinement of the previous one. The first collaboration merged Levi’s Type I, II, and III trucker jackets into a single silhouette, the second hybridized denim with leather and tailoring. The third introduces sherpa and a seven-pocket architectural intervention into the trouser category. The direction of travel is consistent even as the specific solutions change.
Levi’s stated that the collection reflects “the same spirit of reinterpretation that has defined the partnership since its start: sacai’s instinct for reworking familiar shapes brought once again to Levi’s most enduring silhouettes.” That is accurate as far as it goes, but it undersells what Abe actually brings to the process. Her collaborations, from Nike to Pendleton to A.P.C. to Jean Paul Gaultier, consistently produce objects that could not have been made without her specific design intelligence. The Levi’s x Sacai pieces are Levi’s in their DNA and sacai in their logic, and that combination has not yet become predictable.
When And Where The Collection Drops

The collection launches exclusively at a Levi’s x Sacai pop-up at Landmark Hong Kong on September 29, 2026, before a global rollout on September 30 via Levi.com, the Levi’s App, select Levi’s flagship stores, and sacai retail locations. Japan follows on October 1 via Sacai.jp. Prices run from $395 to $795 across all 12 pieces. Based on the sell-through patterns of the previous two collaborations, the Sherpa Jacket and the Belted Flare Pants are likely to move fastest. If either is on the list, the day of the global drop is the window.
