Last Week’s Best Dressed Stars Were A Peculiar Representation Of Simplicity

ccording to Urban Dictionary, to slay means “to do something and do it well.” No truer word depicts the style deliveries from last week. The prints danced in unison, the trains swayed with reckless abandon, and the textures and cuts made their marks –- all with a symphony of style mastery. Celebs and their glam team took their jobs seriously, like a recruit on their first day. Indeed, the dedication could be seen in chic renderings only the stars could serve.

The streets were a tad solemn this past week as the stars recovered from the demands of Awards season. Yet, there was still a reason to step outside for a breath of fresh air without dropping the ball on fashion. It’s almost like last week’s best-dressed celebrities swore a secret oath to hold the fashion line for those who didn’t head out, and they delivered.

The Looks

Beyoncé has continued to string along her version of cowgirl fashion. The Texas boss wore a Givenchy suit to the Oscar Gold Party and made us stand solid on polished business. One thing about Bey is she’s going to come into a trend and make it her own. There’s no denying that Beyoncé in her country girl era is a fashion moment worth hopping on.

Elsewhere, Tracee Ellis Ross wore an oversized Luar skirt set that took the internet on a spin. She styled the gray bulky collared jacket and pleated midi skirt with yellow pumps. Further making a case for oversized fashion, Yvonne Orji was a delight in a The Frankie Shop fit at the Diarra from Detroit movie premiere. The muted hues complemented her skin tone and hair choice. The leather pants blended with the strappy heels and punched up the jacket. While it didn’t accentuate her frame, it gave an aura of being stylish on her terms.
