Beyoncé Is Officially In Her Country-Girl Era

very now and then, Beyoncé changes the trajectory of her style to accommodate a fresh fad. After her metallic Renaissance era, the queen is now leaning toward the cowgirl aesthetic and all the rodeos it comes with. Bey has been spotted in cowgirl-inspired outfits and accessories, like boots and hats, leading celeb watchers to announce this as her country-girl era. Her first appearance in the aesthetic was at the 2024 Grammys when she shone in a Louis Vuitton coordination with her daughter, Blue Ivy, and husband, Jay Z.

While Jay-Z brought the drama with his Grammys speech, Bey’s look was also one to wag the tongue and spark a Country Music album rumor. A conservative choice for an event as elaborate as the Grammys, but notwithstanding, the embellished textured set was in a class of its own.

As speculated, Beyoncé in her country era wasn’t a fallacy. Following the Grammys, the queen of pop announced the release of her singles, “Texas Hold ‘em” and “16 Carriages” in a hyper-sultry fit. Within a week, Texas Hold ‘Em became the first song by a solo Black female artist to chart since Micky Guyton’s 2016 hit, “Heartbreak Song.” But the most talked about topic wasn’t this iconic achievement, but how over-sexualized she made country music with that barely-there metallic coochie cover. (Well, at least she threw in a cowgirl hat for a sprinkle of country😂).

What was her response? Nothing, of course! Trust the queen to continually ignore naysayers and charge on with her big achievements. The memo was clear: sensual cowgirl baddie, and she wasn’t going to back down from it.

As if that wasn’t enough, she followed up with the launch of her new haircare line, CÉCRED, which, in my opinion, is a sort of “shut up” to those who have needlessly trolled her for having “fake hair.” No doubt, the star girl never catches a break. It’s always a back-to-back letter of achievements submitted while redefining herself to match every new era.

Continuing the cow-girl aesthetic, Bey sealed the deal when she posed on the Gram in an all-red country-themed rendering. The look featured a red sheer turtleneck top paired with a matching scrunched mini skirt, boots, a leather coat, and cowboy hat for good measure, leading fans to trigger a conversation on her country name.

While it is all jokes and banter, there’s no doubt that the queen’s fashion strides have been quite a movement. In 2023, she sent us shimmering across town in metallics, and this 2024, it seems she’s about to make us giddy up. The cowgirl-style trend hasn’t seriously hit the mainstream, but with Bey’s touch, we predict it’s about to dominate the fashion conversation, especially since she has sprinkled in new ways to lean into the style from a sassy POV.

The bejeweled cowgirl

At the just-concluded New York Fashion Week, Solange’s son, Jules Smith, had his runway debut at Luar, and Beyoncé and Tina Knowles attended in a show of support. For the occasion, Bey continued to make a case for cowgirl fashion. This time, she yee-hawed in a Gaurav Gupta bejeweled blazer dress and complementary thigh-high boots. She layered the blazer dress on a hooded embellished top and finished off with a cowgirl hat. The country glam was indeed a bold front-row move Gaurav Gupta’s PR team would appreciate.

Interestingly, Beyoncé entering her country era didn’t leave the Renaissance theme out. So far, we’ve seen a seamless blend of metallics and country vibes to birth a style fitting of only the Queen of Pop. Hopefully, the album released in this era would be the album-of-the-year break the 32-time Grammy winner’s career earnestly desires.
