The Most Rave-worthy Looks At The 2023 Grammy Awards
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards show was the next stop on the award season’s glorious tour. The array of fashion on the red carpet at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles was undoubtedly appreciated on a night that was distinctly audio-focused, and this year’s celebrities did not disappoint. 2023 Grammy Awards Red Carpet
All eyes were on the red carpet because many of the nominees for Sunday night’s awards were recognized for their fashion sense in addition to their music. After all, the Grammys are an avenue for artists to unleash all of their creative energy and exhibit their best work.
The Grammy Awards are for trends just as the Oscars are for elegance and the Met Gala is for couture. The only thing you could anticipate at the 2023 Grammys is the unexpected, unlike most award shows where you can expect your typical sea of tuxedos and stunning gowns.
While the awards show is typically known for pushing the envelope and taking chances with its red carpet attire, this year we saw more subdued selections everywhere—a possible hint to the larger Recession Core pattern chosen by celebrities in 2023. This year’s Grammy Awards proved to be all about negative space, with cuts and subversive basic inspiration woven throughout the monochrome suits and gowns. 2023 Grammy Awards Red Carpet
For the main event of the night, Beyoncé won numerous awards in the Dance/Electronic and R&B categories, making her the most-awarded artist in Grammy history. Many people believed she should have won Album of the Year, but Harry Styles got that honor.
Meanwhile, Lizzo won the Record of the Year, Bonnie Raitt went home with the Song of the Year, and Samara Joy was voted Best New Artist. The bulk of the awards was handed out during the premiere ceremony and included multiple wins by Kendrick Lamar, “Encanto,” and one for the newest member of the EGOT family, Viola Davis.
As for the biggest performance of the night, the Recording Academy brought together some 33 artists to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop, and it did not disappoint. The performance, which got the audiences home and abroad dancing, featured Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Salt-N-Pepa, Rakim, Public Enemy, Ice-T, Queen Latifah, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Nelly, Too $hort, Big Boi, the LOX, Glorilla, Lil Baby and more
The celebrities below clearly understood what was expected of them in the fashion department and showed up admirably, putting on displays that, in our opinion, merit praise.
