American-Cape Verdean beauty Andreia Gibau was on January 19th crowned with the title Miss New York USA 2020. This means she is eligible to compete in the Miss USA 2020 beauty pageant. Who won miss new york 2020
The gorgeous 24-year-old already has several crowns to her portfolio: in 2017 she became Miss Earth USA and two years earlier, in 2015, she won the Miss Teen USA contest.
The latest Miss New York 2020, Andreia Gibau, was born in the city of Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, a small country comprising a group of islands that lie 385 miles (620 km) off the west coast of Africa. At the age of 7, accompanied by her parents, she emigrated to the United States of America.
According to Andreia, who’s a true mix of beauty and brains, she competes in pageants because the platform gives women a voice that is so loud and clear and with this, young women like herself are able to bring awareness and educate people on attention-worthy issues they are passionate about.
Following her win, Andreia Gibau thanked Miss Delaware USA 2020 and Miss New Jersey USA 2020 (above) for their support throughout the competition.
“These 2 women were my absolute rocks throughout this journey. We cried together. Cheered for each other. Empowered each other and held each other accountable. Words can’t express how happy I am that I get to experience the opportunity of a lifetime with my best friends. We’re better together!” She captioned the photo.
Standing tall at 5’9″, Andreia’s love for pageantry extends to the world of fashion. She’s signed with New York model, talent and celebrity management agency, NYMMG.
When it comes to her personal style, Andreia prefers to keep things simple, elegant and sultry through a mix of trendy and timeless pieces. With a penchant for showing off her long legs, she has mastered the art of dressing up to suit her slender figure, knows how to play with colours and prints while finishing her looks with a fresh and clean glam beat.
