Formerly known as “dada” and frown upon in Nigeria, dreadlocks are becoming much more popular in Nigeria. In fact, lately, natural hairstyles in general are becoming more popular among people of black descent, Africans inclusive. Lots of people are embracing their natural hair and rocking it in different ways and styles.
BattaBox attended the just completed Loc Appreciation Day 2016 where gorgeous men and women with beautiful Dreadlocks came together to network, discuss and appreciate their natural hair.
“Loc Appreciation Day is like Christmas Day for dada,” says Ade – the event organizer.
Battabox presenter, Adeola spoke to a few people at the Loc Appreciation Day with lovely locks who talked about their locs journey and what people have had to say about their hairstyle.
“My brother didn’t find it funny, he asked if i was broke,” says one lady
