With the invite out and an Instagram live style guide session scheduled for tomorrow, December 7, the 13th edition of The Future Awards Africa (TFAA), the continent’s biggest youth Awards event continues to generate online and offline excitement and anticipation.
The Future Awards Africa has been called the ‘Nobel Prize for Young Africans’, and the ‘most important youth awards’ by Forbes. The Awards, which is a set of prizes, are given annually to celebrate and accelerate innovation, creativity and enterprise among young Africans aged 18 – 31. It has produced over 150 winners and over 1550 nominees since its first edition in 2006.
The Awards is presented in conjunction with The Future Project (TFP). TFP has the mandate to build empowered citizens across Africa, through (inclusive) enterprise and (active) citizenship. This focus on Human Capital Development is informed by value proposition: Africa’s growth needs a generation of young people who are gainfully employed and able to demand and secure better leadership.
This year, the IV design reflects the unique elements that bind us together as a nation as we inch closer to the 2019 general elections. The TFAA event style guide also emphasizes the strength of our rich and enduring culture. The guide which is ‘Glam with a Touch of Culture’ was created by award-winning designers, Lady Biba, Jane Michael and Muktar Onifade with illustration by Lean Kid.
The invite also features a guessing game as the organisers want to know how well you know Nigeria. When you receive your invite, do well to play the game, take a video and tag @tfaafrica for a repost. Official hashtags for this year’s awards is #TFAA2018 and #NigeriasNewTribe. The Future Awards Africa 2018 is presented by The Future Project, Guaranty Trust Bank and H2OH.
