Last Week, The Best Dressed Stars Embraced Chic Modern Romance

A

new week is often met with optimism, and as expected, this state of mind reflects in scintillating wardrobe romance. That is a situation where one breaks the shackles off their routine and unveils a more exciting sartorial affair. This was evident last week as stylish Black women around the world embraced fashion with chic modern takes. They professed their zooty love in signature frocks, bold detailing, and form-fitting coordinations. The perfect histoire d’amour.

The Looks

In honor of late designer Virgil Abloh, legendary model Naomi Campbell touched down in Paris for the debut of his final Louis Vuitton menswear collection. The mother-of-one redefined streetstyle in an edgy two-piece from the brand featuring white and beige tones as well as graphic lettering. The set consists of a maxi flowy shirt dress with zipper and metallic stopper details and also a flowy skirt. She finished off the look with a pair of white ankle boots which also had metallic detail. The queen of the runway proved once again the reason she has stayed relevant decade after decade.

They say when in doubt wear black. Up the mystery appeal and rock an all-black-everything. Actress Tessa Thompson speaks expertly in this principle as she embodied a Schiaparelli Fall/Winter 21 RTW blazer married nicely with thigh-high leather heels. Although the fit remained “the view“, her well-done cornrows and red lippie still managed to steal the show a few times. A perfectly executed head-to-toe slay job.

To paint the streets red, wear red. It’s truly that simple! Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa had the word “fierce” play second fiddle in a custom Bertha Amuga animal print sequin two-piece, see-through Balenciaga tights, and Mach and Mach pumps. She finished off this ensemble with a cropped red blazer and complementing mini bag from her bag brand, Toke Makinwa Luxury. Flawless victory.

The styles shared by Black celebrities and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous, and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.
