Rema’s “Oh No” extends the Nigerian star’s next chapter with a song that leans into guitar, Konpa, and Zouk textures, while Jhené Aiko’s “So Good” draws Kendrick Lamar back into her orbit for a collaboration rooted in a musical relationship that predates both artists’ biggest commercial moments.
That same instinct runs through the other releases making noise right now. Taken together, these records are less about a single sound dominating the moment and more about artists with something to say continuing to stretch the boundaries of what their music can sound like.

#1. Rema — Oh No
Rema continues the rollout toward his forthcoming third studio album with “Oh No,” the second song released from the still-untitled project. The Nigerian Afrobeats star uses the track to explore a slightly different musical texture, with guitar-led production giving his familiar sound a warm, tropical edge.
Produced by Rvssian, the record draws from Konpa and Zouk-inspired rhythms while carrying the Afro-Caribbean and dancehall sensibilities that have become part of the producer’s international musical vocabulary. Rema’s melodic approach sits comfortably within the arrangement, allowing the song to experiment with new textures without abandoning the qualities that have defined his rise.
The anticipation began before the official release, when Rema shared a teaser of himself sitting inside a red automobile as “Oh No” played in the background. That preview quickly gave fans a taste of the song’s infectious character and helped build momentum ahead of its arrival on streaming platforms.
#2. Jhené Aiko ft. Kendrick Lamar — So Good
Jhené Aiko has returned with her first album in six years, Westside Whimsy, and “So Good” brings Kendrick Lamar into the project for another meeting between two artists whose musical histories are closely connected.
Their relationship goes back to Kendrick’s 2010 mixtape Overly Dedicated, years before either artist reached the level of mainstream recognition they command today. Lamar later appeared on Aiko’s “Stay Ready (What a Life)” from her 2013 debut EP Sail Out. Their paths have crossed again since then, including on Playboi Carti’s “Backd00rs,” but “So Good” marks another notable pairing on Aiko’s latest project.
The collaboration also arrives during a particularly active period for Kendrick, who has been announced for several feature appearances in a short span. FOLA brings Bella Shmurda and Zlatan together on “It’s Over,” extending a productive 2026 run for the Nigerian singer. Known for his soulful voice, emotive delivery, and Fuji-influenced phrasing, FOLA anchors the track with a melodic performance that balances the song’s emotional subject matter with its energetic production.

#4. Quavo ft. T.I. — Backwards
Atlanta’s rap history gets a contemporary update on “Backwards,” as Quavo links up with T.I. for a collaboration that connects two generations of the city’s hip-hop culture.
The pairing is significant because T.I. helped establish Atlanta as a dominant force in mainstream rap before Migos emerged as one of the city’s defining groups. Rather than treating that history as a museum piece, “Backwards” turns the connection into a lively party record, with both rappers bringing their own recognizable styles to the track.
Pharrell Williams handles the production, adding another major name to the collaboration. The song also serves as another preview of Quavo’s forthcoming album, QRÖMELIFE, which is scheduled for October 2, with Pharrell serving as executive producer. Following T.I.’s recent Kill The King, “Backwards” finds both artists sounding comfortable in their respective lanes while giving listeners a meeting point between Atlanta’s past and present.
#5. Victoria Monét — Juicy
Victoria Monét is continuing the rollout toward Frequency of Love with “Juicy,” a new single that follows weeks of live previews and arrives ahead of the album’s October 2 release.
The song follows 2026 singles “Reach Out” and “Let Me,” giving Monét another opportunity to establish the sound and atmosphere surrounding her next project. She performed “Juicy” during her summer run opening for Bruno Mars on the European leg of his Romantic Tour, meaning audiences had already heard glimpses of the song before its official streaming release.
Guitar chords and melodic licks provide much of the track’s musical character, creating a smooth foundation for Monét’s vocal lines.
