Victony Enlists Summer Walker and Don Toliver For “Slick (Remix)” + More New and Trending Afrobeats Songs

Afrobeats rarely stays in one place for long. One week, the conversation might revolve around a record built for packed dance floors; the next, it shifts toward an unexpected international collaboration, an off-kilter production choice, or a familiar voice returning with something to say. The latest releases capture that restless energy. Victony gives “SLICK” a remix featuring Summer Walker and Don Toliver, turning a Nigerian hit into a meeting point for three distinct musical personalities, while Fireboy DML brings Lojay into the world of “GODDESS,” extending a creative relationship that began with their 2024 collaboration. Neither release exists in isolation. Both arrive in a musical landscape where artists are increasingly willing to revisit successful ideas, build on existing chemistry, and reach new audiences without necessarily abandoning the sounds that got them there.

There are other stories worth paying attention to this week, too. These releases reflect artists working from different positions within Nigerian music, each with a distinct relationship to commercial success, experimentation, and personal expression. From Blaqbonez’s familiar confidence to Cruel Santino’s genre-blurring approach and Pheelz’s reflections on money, the selection offers a snapshot of the ideas shaping the current conversation. Here are five tracks worth adding to your playlist.

Here are the standout new and trending Afrobeats songs released this week…

#1. Victony, Summer Walker and Don Toliver – SLICK (Remix)

A successful song already has an identity to protect. The challenge with a remix is figuring out what other artists can bring to it without making the original feel like an afterthought. On “SLICK (Remix),” Victony takes that gamble with Summer Walker and Don Toliver, bringing two American artists into a record that has already established itself with Nigerian and international audiences.

Released on October 16, 2026, the remix revisits the track first introduced on Victony’s STARLIFE album. The original, produced by Ozedikus and Dera, paired Afrobeats verses with a hip-hop-influenced hook, giving the singer a more dance-oriented vehicle for his melodic instincts. Walker brings her understated R&B delivery, while Toliver adds the elastic, melody-driven approach that has become a signature of his music. Their contributions introduce a different vocal dynamic while preserving the song’s flirtatious premise.

The original “SLICK” spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Nigeria’s Official Top 100 and reached No. 2 on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart. Toliver and Victony have also crossed paths on the remix of “Soweto,” making this another chapter in their musical relationship. The new version arrives with an established hit behind it, but its real appeal lies in hearing how three distinct voices occupy the same song.

#2. Fireboy DML ft. Lojay – GODDESS

Fireboy DML and Lojay have already demonstrated that their voices can work together. Their 2024 collaboration, “letting go,” appeared on Adedamola, an album that explored the emotional complications of relationships and separation. On “GODDESS,” featured on Fireboy’s new album ZUKO!, the two singers reunite with that shared musical history behind them.

The pairing makes sense because both artists understand the pull of a well-shaped melody. Fireboy has built his career around a blend of Afropop and R&B, balancing romantic songwriting with polished vocal delivery. Lojay brings a similarly expressive approach, making him a natural collaborator rather than a guest appearance designed simply to add another name to the tracklist. Black Culture is among the credited producers on the recording.

Their reunion also offers a point of continuity within Fireboy’s evolving catalogue. Artists can move toward new sounds without leaving every previous creative relationship behind, and “GODDESS” gives the singer another opportunity to work with a collaborator whose musical instincts complement his own. The result extends a creative partnership that still has room to develop.

#3. Blaqbonez – CA$HOUT

Blaqbonez has never needed to discuss success with complete seriousness. His persona thrives on bravado, punchlines, and an ability to turn the pursuit of money and recognition into material for his own entertainment. “CA$HOUT,” the eighth track on his 15-song album NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, continues that thread.

Released through Chocolate City Music, the song revisits a subject that has followed the rapper throughout his career. An earlier recording, “Just Hustlin $$$,” similarly placed financial ambition in the foreground. But Blaqbonez approaches the theme from the perspective of someone who has moved beyond chasing recognition from the margins of the industry. His journey from underground rap competitions to mainstream success gives those recurring declarations of ambition an added dimension.

His music draws from hip-hop while incorporating elements of Afrobeats and R&B, though his personality remains the central attraction. On “CA$HOUT,” the money-centred premise fits neatly into the larger world of NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, where confidence and self-invention remain essential parts of his artistic identity. The track continues his exploration of ambition with the wit and self-assurance that have become central to his public persona.

#4. Cruel Santino ft. Zaylevelten – Big Drop

Not every Afrobeats release needs to follow the same rhythmic blueprint. Cruel Santino has spent much of his career working at the edges of Nigerian alternative music, where influences from different genres can coexist without being neatly categorised. “Big Drop,” his collaboration with Zaylevelten, continues that approach.

The track brings together futuristic textures, layered melodies, and atmospheric production, giving both artists room to operate beyond conventional Afrobeats structures. Genio, OTE, Silvershell, GMK, HaRam, and Cruel Santino share production credits, contributing to a recording shaped by several creative perspectives.

Zaylevelten’s presence adds another voice to Santino’s experimental world, while the song reflects the continuing development of Nigeria’s alternative scene. Its appeal lies less in following an established formula than in exploring what happens when artists treat genre boundaries as flexible rather than fixed. For listeners drawn to Afrobeats that takes creative detours, “Big Drop” offers a different route into the genre’s expanding soundscape.

#5. Pheelz – Cash Rules Everything Around Us

Pheelz has spent years helping shape other artists’ records from behind the production desk. His own releases offer a different view of that musical experience, bringing his instincts for melody and arrangement into sharper focus. “Cash Rules Everything Around Us,” released in October 2026 after A Rii Set (Live), turns its attention to a subject that is difficult to separate from everyday life: money.

The title is direct, framing financial ambition as a force that influences decisions, relationships, and personal priorities. It also sits comfortably alongside Pheelz’s broader musical identity, which draws from Afrobeats, contemporary R&B, and melodic pop. His production background gives him an understanding of how to make a song accessible without reducing it to a hook alone.

“Finesse” helped introduce Pheelz to a wider international audience as a recording artist, building on a career already established through his work as a producer. His latest single continues that journey while returning to a subject with broad cultural resonance. Rather than treating money solely as a marker of success, the title invites listeners to consider the extent to which it shapes modern life.
