Stella McCartney has released “Wild Horses,“ a new short film starring Kylie Jenner and directed by Gia Coppola, bringing the British designer’s commitment to animal welfare into focus through her Fall 2026 collection. Filmed along the Pacific Ocean, the campaign features Jenner alongside a trained horse, combining cinematic imagery with the designer’s longstanding advocacy for animal protection and cruelty-free fashion.

The release follows Stella McCartney’s Fall 2026 runway presentation during Paris Fashion Week, which celebrated the Year of the Horse with a live equestrian performance. The new short film extends that theme beyond the runway, pairing Jenner’s latest fashion campaign with a message about the relationship between humans, animals, and nature. It also marks another major fashion collaboration for Jenner, who has recently appeared in campaigns for Alo and at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Titled “Wild Horses,“ the short film is described as an ode to “the power, sensitivity and freedom of the horse.” In one of its central scenes, Jenner is filmed fully immersed in ocean water alongside a trained horse, emphasizing the patience, care, and mutual respect involved in working with animals.

Coppola, who directed “The Last Showgirl” starring Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis, brings her filmmaking background to the campaign. Rather than focusing exclusively on product shots, the project uses the coastal setting and the interaction between Jenner and the horse to establish a broader narrative around freedom and animal welfare.

McCartney said the casting was guided by her desire to work with people who reflect the current moment and can carry forward conversations about consciousness and kindness. She also emphasized the importance of celebrating women through the campaign, describing the brand’s approach as one that gives women the freedom to express who they are through clothing.

For Jenner, the project adds to a growing list of fashion and lifestyle appearances beyond her beauty and reality television businesses. Her involvement also introduces McCartney’s latest collection and animal welfare message to her substantial global audience.

Stella McCartney Extends Fall 2026’s Equestrian Theme

The short film follows Stella McCartney’s Fall 2026 runway show, staged at the Société Equestrienne de Paris in the Bois de Boulogne during Paris Fashion Week. The presentation featured models walking around live horses inside a riding hall, transforming the runway into an equestrian setting that reflected the designer’s personal passion for the animals.

Horse artist Jean-François Pignon, who also participated in McCartney’s 2023 presentation, oversaw a performance in which the horses moved in formation and responded to his direction.

McCartney has repeatedly incorporated horses into her creative work, including a Winter 2023 campaign. Her interest extends beyond their visual appeal: the designer has made animal welfare a central part of her brand since founding Stella McCartney in 2001, rejecting fur, leather, feathers, and skins in favor of alternative materials.

The “Wild Horses” short film continues that approach, connecting the Fall 2026 collection to Stella McCartney’s broader position that luxury fashion can exist without harming animals.

The campaign also showcases several designs from the Fall 2026 collection, including a faux-fur coat, Chantilly lace tops, chainmail pieces, and thigh-high riding boots. The looks bring together dramatic textures and equestrian references while maintaining the collection’s focus on material alternatives.

The Appaloosa bag receives particular attention. Its design was inspired by Lucky Spot, a stallion treasured by McCartney’s late mother, Linda McCartney. The reference gives the accessory a personal connection to the designer’s family and reinforces the horse’s importance throughout the campaign.

Colorful charms introduced during the Fall 2026 runway show also feature in behind-the-scenes material. Developed through McCartney’s partnership with My Little Pony, the charms are scheduled to become available in December.

Campaign Supports Global Equine Welfare

Animal protection remains a central part of the project. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the vulnerability of America’s wild horses while continuing McCartney’s advocacy for the dignity and freedom of animals.

According to the fashion house, the American Humane Society monitored the animals during production, and no horses were harmed. The brand also confirmed that a donation would be made to support equine welfare charities globally.

The measures reflect the principles behind McCartney’s approach to fashion, which seeks to combine innovation, desirability, and animal welfare. By placing a trained horse at the center of the film rather than treating it solely as a styling element, the campaign connects its visual direction to that wider commitment.

With Jenner starring and Coppola directing, “Wild Horses” gives Stella McCartney’s Fall 2026 collection a cinematic platform while extending the designer’s ongoing conversation about animal welfare. The release builds on the equestrian theme established at Paris Fashion Week, bringing together fashion, filmmaking, and advocacy in a campaign shaped by McCartney’s longstanding relationship with horses.
