From feminine ensembles to whimsical designs to voice note invites sent via Whatsapp by Gucci, Milan Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2020, which came to a close February 24, was definitely a glamorous affair.
There were conversations around gender fluidity, sexual violence, collaborations, the spread of coronavirus and more. Talking about collaborations, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons announced a new partnership to co-creative direct Prada. The new partnership will take effect from April 1, 2020.
Just like the just-concluded New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, MFW FW 2020 had designers lighting up the runways in colourful looks, clashing prints, fashionable cake dresses, patchwork pieces, fringe frenzy and sophisticated leather looks, live orchestra performances and more. In other news, Fendi made news for casting curvaceous models for the first time, proving that inclusivity is slowly but surely making its way up the fashion ladder!
For the MFW FW 2020 finale, Giorgio Armani made a last-minute decision to show his latest collection in an empty theatre while it streamed live on its website, Instagram and Facebook pages due to growing concerns of Coronavirus which has hit Italy.
