Reports recently surfaced that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living in the US$18 million luxury Beverly Hills mansion of Tyler Perry. According to insiders, while the couple have been busy with work from their temporary home, Meghan and Prince Harry have made plans to take the day off to celebrate their second wedding anniversary.
The couple wedded at St George’s Chapel in Windsor two years ago, on May 19, 2018.
A move across the border
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their one-year-old son, Archie have been living in the gated community since moving to LA from their rented space in Vancouver Island, Canada. The former royals made the move at the end of March before the US closed its borders due to the coronavirus.
Meghan and Harry have never been seen together with Tyler Perry, who is best known for the character of elderly woman Madea. It is believed that their mutual friend, Oprah Winfrey made the connection. Oprah apparently wanted to help ensure Meghan and Prince Harry have a comfortable place to stay while they search for their permanent home. Tyler Perry is currently the highest-paid man in entertainment.
Perry’s eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom Tuscan-style villa, which was bought back in 2004, sits on 22 acres on the top of a hill in an exclusive Beverly Ridge Estates guard-gated community. The property has its own private gate, a slew of security cameras, and a state-of-the-art alarm system. The grandly gorgeous mansion allows for a breathtaking view of the city in the backyard and a beautiful sight of the sunset.
The interior of the mansion boasts of regal aesthetics consisting of large chandeliers, a grand piano, and lots of marble details including an archway and a kitchen hood. The walls in the mansion are covered in oak panels.
The highlight of the mansion is the Roman-inspired bathroom design which has a circular jacuzzi built into the floor. The jacuzzi is framed with four marble plinths and below a huge chandelier.
Meghan and Prince Harry’s son, Archie must also love his first American home as he has a beautiful nursery that used to belong to Tyler Perry’s son, Aman. The room features a blue and white color scheme with wooden floors and white walls. The room also comes with a white cot and a matching armchair and side table.
Fans have been flocking to Tyler Perry’s Instagram in search of shots from the mansion to have a glimpse of how the former royals are now living.
