See The Best Designs From London Fashion Week AW21

It’s no longer news that the coronavirus pandemic has totally altered the modus operandi of the global fashion industry. From fashion weeks getting totally canceled to just some shows getting canceled, to others having their dates moved around—one constant has been virtual fashion shows becoming the norm. Fashion designers and enthusiasts alike have all had to adapt to this new normal. LFW FW21.

The London Fashion Week FW21 show just wrapped up and the designers who showcased once again showed us just how empowering creative designs can be. For this season, almost all shows and presentations took place behind closed doors while fashion faithfuls watched the collections digitally. A few designers however, hosted physical fashion shows with a limited number of guests. LFW FW21.

While London-based fashion house Roksanda opted for delicacy with a selection of clothes in tribute to everyday life, Spanish designer Sonia Carrasco went for a detailed and structured aesthetic with a collection that was as firm as it was laid-back. For Roksanda, laid-back, optimistic, and statement-making pieces were at the core of the collection while striking a balance between comfort, a little bit of drama and fantasy. Sonia Carrasco’s collection explored the contrast between mixed feelings, accelerated changes and is inspired by the attractiveness of nature and its uncertainties.

Duro Olowu, LFW FW21

British-Nigerian designer Duro Olowu unveiled a collection any print-loving woman would fall in love with instantly. The clashing patterns and colors of his latest collection were inspired by two painters: Barkley L. Hendricks and Édouard Vuillard. According to the fashion house, “It’s always about injecting an aura of energy and optimism into the wearer — and not overshadowing her personality. These clothes are an ode to style and to optimism — but they’re not about showing off. Empathy and beauty make a great combination.”

London-born Turkish designer, Bora Aksu transported us to revolutionary France with a collection inspired by the life and unparalleled achievements of mathematician, physicist and philisopher Sophie Germain. The collection presented a mix of casual and luxurious looks that were based on comfort and perfect for every day.
