Jordyn Woods proudly showed off her engagement ring just hours after Karl-Anthony Towns’ Christmas Day proposal, making a glamorous courtside appearance at Madison Square Garden. The model and entrepreneur cheered on her fiancé as the New York Knicks took on the Cleveland Cavaliers in their holiday matchup, with her new diamond clearly on display. Woods later shared photos from the arena on Instagram, posing on the court and thanking fans for the outpouring of love following the engagement announcement.
The appearance came a day after Woods and the NBA star revealed their engagement in a joint Instagram post captioned, “Marry Christmas,” featuring Towns proposing at Overstory, a rooftop bar overlooking the New York City skyline. The milestone marks the next chapter for the couple, who began dating in 2020 after years of friendship and have since been open about how that bond laid the foundation for their relationship. Over the past five years, Woods and Towns have consistently supported one another through career highs and personal challenges, with their engagement signaling a new era in their love story.
2. Adekunle Gold and Simi Announce Second Pregnancy in New Music Video
Nigerian music stars Adekunle Gold and Simi have announced they are expecting their second child through a heartfelt reveal in Adekunle Gold’s new music video, “My Love Is The Same.” The video, released on Wednesday, December 24, accompanies the sixth track on his sixth studio album, Fuji, and offers an intimate glimpse into the couple’s family life. Featuring vocals from their daughter, Adejare, and prominent appearances by Simi, the visual opens with a tender call-and-response between father and daughter, instantly setting a deeply personal tone that underscores the song’s message of love and devotion.
The emotional highlight arrives toward the end of the video, when a visibly pregnant Simi is revealed as the family embraces, confirming the couple’s growing household. Adekunle Gold uses the song to reflect on the pressures of fame, work, and time away from home, while reaffirming that family remains his greatest priority. Since its release, the announcement has drawn widespread praise across social media, with fans celebrating the couple’s ability to weave their real-life journey into their art. Congratulatory messages have continued to pour in as Adekunle Gold and Simi prepare to welcome their second child, marking another milestone in their shared personal and musical journey.

The United States has launched airstrikes against Islamic State–linked militants in Nigeria following a series of attacks that President Donald Trump said targeted Christians. In a Christmas evening post on his social media platform, Trump described the operation as a “powerful and deadly” strike against Islamic State forces, though he did not provide details on the scope or impact of the action. A U.S. Defense Department official said the strikes were carried out in coordination with Nigerian authorities and had been approved by Abuja, with Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirming that the cooperation involved intelligence sharing and strategic coordination consistent with international law.
Nigeria is battling multiple armed groups, including factions affiliated with the Islamic State, such as the Islamic State West Africa Province and the lesser-known Lakurawa group operating in the northwest. Security analysts said the strikes may have targeted Lakurawa, which has grown increasingly violent in states such as Sokoto and Kebbi. While Trump framed the action as a response to attacks on Christians, Nigerian officials emphasized that extremist violence has affected both Christians and Muslims across the country. The strikes follow weeks of pressure from Washington, including visa restrictions and Nigeria’s designation as a “country of particular concern” under U.S. religious freedom law, as the U.S. administration signals a tougher stance against militant groups operating in the region.

Tyler Perry has been sued for sexual assault by an actor who appeared in Boo! A Madea Halloween, with the plaintiff seeking at least $77 million in damages. Mario Rodriguez filed the lawsuit Thursday in California, alleging the filmmaker and media mogul subjected him to repeated unwanted sexual advances over several years, including sexual battery and assault at Perry’s Los Angeles home. The suit also names Lionsgate, which distributed the 2016 film, accusing the studio of ignoring Perry’s alleged misconduct. In a statement, Perry’s attorney denied the allegations, while Lionsgate did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to the complaint, Rodriguez said he was first approached in 2014 by a trainer at an Equinox gym who claimed Perry wanted his contact information to discuss an acting role. After being cast in Boo! A Madea Halloween, Rodriguez alleges he was invited to Perry’s home, where inappropriate contact occurred, followed by additional incidents in 2016, 2018, and 2019. Rodriguez said he resisted the advances and decided to pursue legal action after learning of similar accusations made by actor Derek Dixon, who sued Perry in June over alleged misconduct on the sets of The Oval and Ruthless. Rodriguez’s lawsuit includes claims of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Nigeria booked their place in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after holding off a spirited late fightback from Tunisia in a dramatic Group C clash in Fes, Morocco. The Super Eagles looked to be cruising after racing into a 3–0 lead through goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, and Ademola Lookman, but Tunisia rallied in the final stages. Montassar Talbi headed home from a Hannibal Mejbri free-kick before Ali Abdi converted a late penalty following a VAR review for a Bright Osayi-Samuel handball, setting up a tense finish.
Tunisia pushed hard for an equaliser, with captain Ferjani Sassi heading narrowly wide in stoppage time and Ismael Gharbi volleying just off target, but Nigeria held firm to secure the win. The victory moves the three-time champions onto six points, guaranteeing top spot in Group C with a game to spare and qualification for the knockout stage, where they will face a third-placed team from Group A, B, or F. Tunisia remains on three points and stays in contention for progression, needing at least a draw against Tanzania in their final group match.
