Kai Cenat Takes VIVET From Streaming Fame to New York Fashion Week

Nine months ago, Kai Cenat did something almost no one in his position would consider. At the height of his streaming career, with millions of followers watching his every move, he stepped away from content creation entirely to learn how to make clothes. Not to start a merch line. Not to license his name to a manufacturer. He traveled to production facilities, spent time inside factories, studied textile manufacturing, pattern-making, and leather construction, and came back with a brand he owns outright. On September 12, 2026, VIVET made its runway debut at Cipriani in Lower Manhattan during New York Fashion Week, and the fashion industry had to decide what to make of it.
The show was livestreamed to millions of viewers simultaneously, operating on a see-now, buy-now model that made select pieces from the debut collection available for purchase the moment the final look came down the runway. Prices range from $140 for sweatpants to $1,195 for outerwear. The front row included Lauryn Hill alongside a mix of creators, artists, and cultural figures, including DDG, Karrahbooo, and PlaqueBoyMax. The runway itself was walked by members of Cenat’s inner circle, including Duke Dennis, RayAsianBoy, BruceDropEmOff, and Burberry Erry. This casting decision came across less like nepotism and more like a statement about who VIVET is actually for.
The Collection: Three Acts, One Story
VIVET takes its name from the Latin phrase meaning “he, she, or it will live forever.” The brand was announced in December 2025, and in the months that followed, Kai Cenat documented the process publicly through behind-the-scenes vlogs, a design journal posted on the VIVET Instagram, and scattered product glimpses that kept anticipation building without giving the full picture away. On the opening page of the journal reads: “The Journey.” What followed was a year of manufacturing visits, fabric sourcing, and the kind of deliberate craft study that most celebrity fashion ventures skip entirely.
The brand’s mission, as stated in the official show invitation, is rooted in “manifestation, knowledge acquisition, discipline, teamwork, and having faith.” That framing could read as motivational-poster language in the wrong context. Still, against the backdrop of a 24-year-old who walked away from a multi-million-dollar streaming career to learn how to sew, it lands differently. Kai Cenat attended Louis Vuitton and 424 runway shows during Paris Fashion Week Men’s in January 2026, Vivet journal in hand, connecting with creative directors including Pharrell and Guillermo Andrade. Future also acknowledged the upcoming designer during that period.
The Bags and What They Represent

Leather goods anchor VIVET’s core offering and may be the clearest expression of how seriously Cenat took the craft side of this project. The hero piece is the Cenova bag, a structured leather design that carries the brand’s construction philosophy in miniature. Alongside it sits the Streamer bag, a luxury leather translation of the digital broadcasting setup that made Cenat famous, a piece of cultural autobiography rendered in hand-finished material. The category signals that VIVET is not presenting itself as a streetwear label that happens to make bags. It is positioning leather goods as central to its identity, which is a significantly more ambitious play.
Whether VIVET sustains that ambition beyond Collection 1 is the question the industry will spend the next few seasons answering. What the debut established, at minimum, is that Cenat approached this with more rigor than the format typically demands. The see-now, buy-now model ensures the audience does not have to wait to see whether the clothes hold up in practice. Select pieces from the VIVET Collection are now available at vivetofficial.com.
