Joeboy Puts The Groove In Our Feet With ‘Likkle Riddim’ + More New Trending Afrobeat Songs
A fashion and pop culture writer who watches a lot…
The versatility of Afrobeats is one of the features that has taken it to the heights it is today. This now mainstream genre can be low, mid, or high tempo and still bang. Take Joeboy’s new song Likkle Riddim, which is the polar opposite of his last single, Contour. Likkle Riddim compels listeners to dance, and that is why it is our favorite new release this week.
Just like Nigerian afrobeats, Ghanaian afrobeats take the same shape. Black Sherif’s 45, off his newly released album, The Villain I Never Was, is a perfect example of that. Consequently, we’ve curated the top five trending new hits released this week to kick-start your weekend groove.
Check out the top 5 trending new Afrobeat songs released this week…
#1. Joeboy – Likkle Riddim
Talented Nigerian singer and EmPawa music act, Joeboy is out with a new single titled Likkle Riddim. After the success of his last slow rhythm song, Contour, the singer decided to turn things up this time with a dance-worthy banger as he sings about how mesmerized he gets with the way his love interest dances.
#2. Blaqbonez, JAE5 – Back In Uni
Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez, has linked up with British-Ghanaian producer, JAE5, to make a song for the ages titled Back In Uni. After weeks of teasing this bop-heavy tune, the duo has finally dropped the banger, and we must say it is worth every bit of hype. On Back in Uni, Blaqbonez uses his great storytelling abilities to narrate the tale of the heart he broke in the university and the recklessness he displayed in doing so.
#3. Black Sherif – 45
After a year of making waves across the globe with his style of music, Ghanaian singer and rapper, Black Sherif has finally released his debut album titled The Villain I Never Was. On this 14-track album is 45, a song also produced by JAE5, which uses emotive lines and melodic sound infusion in order to capture the minds and attention of listeners.
#4. Tekno – Pay
Augustine Miles Kelechi, widely known as Tekno, has dropped another jaw-dropping song titled Pay. This song sees Tekno jumping on the amapiano sound as he blends the widely spread sound with afrobeats. On this dance-inducing song, Tekno shows off to his haters, singing that Oluwa (God) is on his side and he balls like Dangote on a steady.
