Alessandro Michele has put his stamp on Gucci’s fragrance portfolio. The Italian luxury brand unveiled its latest scent, Gucci Bloom, the first to be conceptualized wholly by its creative director Michele. Gucci Bloom marks the establishment of a new pillar in the brand’s lineup, joining key franchises Guilty, Bamboo, Flora and Gucci by Gucci. The fragrance which was launched in Lagos during a private party on the 8th of December, 2017 is said to have celebrated women in bloom and the beautiful discovery of their most expensive fragrance juice yet!
According to Edgar Huber, president of Coty Luxury at Coty Inc., which holds the Gucci fragrance license,
“Bloom differs from previous scents brought forth by the brand both from an olfactory and aesthetic perspective. The scent is very much inspired by Alessandro Michele himself, who was heavily involved in the development of the Eau de parfum.”
Michele worked with master perfumer Alberto Morillas to create the Eau de parfum, which contains natural sambac jasmine, tuberose, orris and Rangoon creeper, an ingredient sourced from India and exclusive to Gucci Bloom. Although Bloom has a lot of personality, it is part of the floral family and also looks very different as it just really represents and reflects Alessandro’s vision of Gucci – of the new luxury and also of the new luxury consumer.
The event which took place at The Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, saw lovers of luxury goods come out in their numbers to celebrate with the brand. As always, these ladies did not just turn up, they showed up in their stylish best.
