1. Davido and Chioma welcome twins in the US

International superstar David Adeleke, aka Davido, and his wife, Chioma Rowland, are now parents to a set of twins. The superstar’s longtime partner reportedly delivered the twin babies in a hospital in the United States of America. The speculations about the birth of the children first became public online on October 10 but were unconfirmed by the singer. In a viral video posted on Friday, October 13, the happy couple were captured outside a hospital, with Chioma holding their newborn babies in her hands while sitting in a wheelchair.

Joy has overflowed across social media for the happy couple, with many thanking God for the “double blessings.” The widespread joy about the news stems from the unfortunate loss the married couple suffered in November 2022 when they lost their only child, Ifeanyichukwu Adeleke, who sadly drowned in the swimming pool at their residence.

2. Megan Thee Stallion reveals that her next album is dropping independently

On October 13, Megan Thee Stallion appeared on producer LilJuMadeDaBeat’s Instagram Live to give fans an update on her forthcoming album. Due to a highly publicized legal battle with her former record label, the yet-to-be-titled body of work will be completely independent. “This part of my album is definitely very much funded by Megan because, you know, we’re trying to get off… Y’all know what’s the tea,” she said. “But I have no label right now, and we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. So, the budget is coming from me. Motherf**king Hot Girl Productions. The next sh*t y’all about to see is all straight from Megan Thee Stallion. Megan Thee Stallion’s brain, Megan Thee Stallion’s wallet. We in my pockets, hotties, so let’s do our big one.”

On Thursday, October 12, Megan took to her own Instagram to share a series of posts, all of which were labeled “Act One.” The images utilized heavy imagery involving snakes, which many think is for Halloween and/or a promotional album campaign.

Wizkid grieved as he buried his mother, Jane Dolapo, surrounded by family, on Friday, October 13. In the numerous clips circulating on social media from the service in honor of the singer’s late mother, Wizkid was seen highly emotionally overwhelmed by grief. The intimate church service held in Lagos was attended by the star’s family members, all dressed in gold attire.

Paying tribute to his mother, the entertainer noted that he had felt lost ever since his mother passed away. Despite his grief, he made sure to comfort his family members who were present. He said, “The pain is profound. It hurts deeply. The deepest pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m lost but I pray God will comfort every one of us. I’m lost without you mom, I love you so much.” Wizkid’s mother was highly pivotal to his success as a global superstar. She was also sometimes seen supporting her son’s music career by attending his concerts on occasion. Fans and well-wishers have since sent their condolences and words of support to the singer and his family, wishing them comfort.

May her soul rest in peace.

5. Casemiro asks to be taken off playing for Brazil against Venezuela after injury

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro sustained an ankle injury while on international duty with Brazil this week. The 31-year-old was in action for the Selecao as they drew 1-1 with Venezuela in World Cup qualifying. However, Casemiro was taken off with just over 10 minutes to go as coach Fernando Diniz made three substitutes in one go late on. The injury blow exacerbates a tough week for the ex-Real Madrid star, who was taken off at halftime in United’s recent 2-1 win against Brentford due to his woeful performance.

Coach Erik ten Hag will be hoping the veteran player will not be ruled out for a long period, as he is already without the likes of Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and Amad Diallo. It is not yet known if Casemiro will be involved when Brazil faces Uruguay on October 18. Otherwise, he will return to United and hope to be in shape to feature against Sheffield United on October 21.
