Meet The Zoomly Weds: The Future Of Weddings Is Virtual

When the ancient Roman poet Virgil wrote in his works that “Love conquers all. Love overcomes all obstacles,” We bet a lot of people may not have fully understood the power of love until now.

Because in these trying times when the coronavirus pandemic has cancelled a whole lot of plans, couples are getting creative and turning to apps like Zoom to make sure nothing stops their fairytale from coming true. Such is the overcoming power of love!

Zoom, a video conferencing service that has become the go-to platform for virtual meetings is now the go-to app for weddings. Zoom weddings have now become a trend as more and more couples are embracing technology instead of postponing their wedding day completely. The best part is that the newlyweds still get to share the special moment with their loved ones who log in from all over the world. Some Zoom wedding guests even dress up fully, as though attending a traditional wedding.

Take Nigerian fashion influencer Angel Obasi (Style Connaisseur) for example. She attended a Zoom wedding dressed to kill, albeit with no target in sight. Now, that’s a true slay queen. We think dressing up for a Zoom wedding is a great way to show your loved ones just how supportive you are of their union from miles and miles away.

No one is certain as to when this will be all over so expect Zoom weddings to become even more popular. Totally love that engaged couples are not letting the coronavirus steal their joy.

Check out some beautiful couples who have embraced the Zoom wedding trend…

So we did a thing yesterday morning! We had a quarantine wedding in my parent’s backyard. The silver lining was over 100 people and the pastor were able to join us on Zoom with only a few days notice. We had to move the Mexico wedding to December, so we decided to do it at the court and then that closed on Monday. We had no idea what to do, but the love between us and our families prevailed! The Howard family also held it all the way down!!! HU! I couldn’t let the night end without congratulating my big sis @yayasandy on her wedding today. I know #411 wasn’t what you imagined, but I want you to relish in the love that was shown to you today with over 300 in attendance to virtually watch you say “I Do”. Wow. And you deserve every ounce of that love. We have a lifetime of friendship and sisterhood so I’ll save the sappy post for the reception. (After 18 years you’re pretty much stuck with me 🤷🏽‍♀️😁) I wish you and Joe all the happiness in the world. @k_i_double980 take care of my Sandy Candy as I know you will. I love you guys! 👰🏾🤵🏿💕🎊 #whatsthe411 #sealedwithakissi #zoomwedding #virtualwedding #weddings #funners #efam

It wasn’t at the Victorian. We didn’t have a dj, photobooth, or caterer. We didn’t have the hundreds of guests we invited. We didn’t have a sparkler exit. But we did have an amazing photographer: @wanderlustmemoriesllc, delicious food, and the people who brought us life. We had the most amazing, intimate little ceremony we could’ve ever dreamed of. The most important part is the marriage, not the wedding. 80+ of our friends and family (even some fully dressed up) got to be there with us via live stream (s/o to @zoom_video_communications ) We are so thankful and would not have had it any other way! Endless thanks to all who made this possible! #PerfectlyTaylored #covid19wedding #backyardwedding #Zoomwedding #telewed #coronawedding

1 whole week from today my life changed forever..Despite how crazy this world has gotten and how strict laws are on us i was able to enjoy one of the very best days of my life. I got to exchange vows to always love and deeply respect my very best friend and now husband. This Corona virus has affected so many people and things all around us in many ways, but couldn't stop true Love. With the help of our families and Jehovah we had the best time and got to share our special day with family and friends through zoom. So where there is a will there is a way! Trust me! I feel like Nito and I are living through an Epic movie. I dont mind though its fun! We will have a great story to tell. So To all my family and friends that couldnt be there know we love you very much and cant wait to celebrate with you all soon. XOXO❤❤

The most connected I’ve felt in weeks. I married my handsome husband yesterday. We were surround by our friends and family all while remaining safe and healthy. Thank you god. Thank you @zoom_video_communications haha. The last two weeks have been incredibly difficult. Required to hold off on a day we’ve been planning for a long time. We felt confused, sad and almost like the world was conspiring against us. When we put this day into perspective, we realized that there was no need to postpone our joy. With technology and the support of our family and friends we put together something beautiful. It was intimate and collaborative. @albertrunsalot inserted the sense of calm we needed to execute this and make it feel like us. We are able to keep the “chat” messages as a digital guest book, and a reminder of all the kind wishes we received this day. To all of the couples out there feeling personally attacked by Covid, it will all be okay and you will have your special day. My husband and I have bonded in a way that is indescribable. We have a story to tell our kids that we survived (I may tell them we fought off zombies for good measure). And we’re here. We did it. Do not postpone your joy (just keep health and safety in mind). ♥️ #justinlovewithmaryssa #zoom #theknot #avalanchegottocometothewedding #zoomwedding #covidwedding. @theknot
