American rapper Cardi B has signed her first film as a lead and will be headlining the project titled Assisted Living. In Assisted Living, Cardi B will play the role of Amber, a small-time crook who finds herself in a mess when a heist goes wrong.

The film is based on an original script by This Is Us writer Kay Oyegun. It is produced by Temple Hill and Stephen Love. Cardi B had previously made a cameo appearance in Jennifer Lopez’s Hustlers.

2. Nigeria: Nigerian celebrities supporting Ugandan politician Bobi Wine

Ugandan politician, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine has been on the news since he announced his intentions to run for the seat of the president of his country. The former music star’s bold move against the president of the country, Yoweri Museveni, has been greeted with so much support from a lot of people home and abroad.

Interestingly, in Nigeria, a number of celebrities including Davido, Adekunle Gold, Don Jazzy and more have backed the former reggae dance hall singer turned politician’s presidential bid. They’ve put out tweets to show their support for their colleague and also call out the injustices carried out by Museveni.

3. South Africa: Master KG buys fan a house

Master KG, who shot to international success in 2020 after his song, Jerusalema became a smash hit, started the new year on a high note when a fan and colleague revealed that the musician had bought him a new home.

Taking to Twitter this week DJ Ngwazi expressed his gratitude to the star for making his dream of owning a home come true, he wrote: “I had never ever thought one day I will wake up and clean my own house in Johannesburg Midrand… A blessing on top of another thanks brother love @MasterKGsa.”

4. Ghana: YouTube deletes Wendy Shay’s ‘Pray for the World’ music video

Singer Wendy Shay has taken to her Instagram page to let people know of her displeasure after video sharing platform, YouTube took down one of her music videos for copyright infringements. The music video dubbed Pray for the World got unpublished after YouTube reportedly said it had the same chord progression as the hit South African song Jerusalema.

Giving an update on the matter, the ‘Uber Driver’ hitmaker said lawyers of her label, Rufftown Records, are trying to restore the video back on the global streaming platform. She urged fans to keep calm adding that she will fight for her right.

5. Ibrahimovic planning talks to extend AC Milan contract beyond his 40th birthday

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is planning on holding contract talks with AC Milan that could see him stay on at San Siro beyond his 40th birthday. His previous 12-month contract will come to a close this summer, meaning that the 39-year-old must mull over his options once more.

He feels that he can still do a job in Serie A, having helped to inspire a title challenge this season, and is open to discussions regarding his future. Ibrahimovic told the media: “I’ll continue playing as long as I feel well. Then we’ll see, we’ll talk about my contract.”
