hat’s worth doing is worth doing well, and that’s the principle Black stylish celebs religiously stuck to last week. The lineup of countless events like New York Fashion Week had bomb-looking ensembles surfacing from all corners of the fashion scenes. Meanwhile, the Venice Film Festival, which kicked off on August 31, continued to witness norm-breaking style coordinations on its carpet. If we needed a reminder that September is Fashion Month, a keen look at our timelines bursting with glamorous looks certainly served the purpose.
The highly anticipated New York Fashion Week brought Black stylish celebs and fashion enthusiasts out in elaborate attires per usual. Whether they chose to embody well-tailored dressy numbers or elevated casual outfits, these stars did so in interestingly spruced-up formation. The return of Harper’s BAZAAR’s Annual Icons Party and Fendi’s presentation at NYFW skyrocketed the energy on the streets, and September already seems pregnant with multiple sartorial renderings.
Hollywood stars also headed to the 74th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Toronto Film Festival, Pinnochio movie premiere, and Disney Legends’ 35th anniversary. The week was packed to the T with these major events. Although it was a busy week for celebrities and their glam teams, the fashion world belched uncontrollably after feeding voraciously on these killer looks to satisfaction.
The looks
Tessa Thompson continued her Venice slaying streak in a Harbison dress and structured blazer set paired with Wolford tights. The look hit game over with the vertically placed bows, which emphasized the fit’s uniqueness. When you make a reputation off hitting and not missing, that’s mastery level.
Elsewhere, Lori Harvey arrived at Vogue’s NYFW opening event reminding us to gear up for fall in a green Christian Cowen puffer mini dress. Her white Christian Louboutin pumps and diamond earrings complemented the high-slit number. A perfect way to do street style — the girly way.
Actor Laura Harrier opted for a metallic Saint Laurent mini dress as spotted at the Venice Film Festival. The frock was draped at the hip with embellishment around the neckline. The dress shone and required little to no accessories, save for the bracelet and matching purse the star donned.
