Thanks to social media, its been much easier to keep up with celebrity style around the world. Last week, as Black stars were busy with press meets, sporting events and virtual red carpets, they did so with their best foot, exploring the full fashion spectrum.
A single chrome palette provided an unexpected fashion inspiration somewhere in America last week. For the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers Basketball game, Athlete Jay Tatum updated his Instagram to show that even the color black can be exceedingly stylish. In a Dolce and Gabbana coat, black RtA shirt, a pair of black joggers and a pair of Union Los Angeles x Jumpman 23 Air Jordan 4 sneakers, he gave us a taste of how to look drop dead stylish in all black. But Jay Tatum wasn’t the only athlete arriving in top style. From LeBron James to Chris Paul, sports stars are ruling the American menswear fashion scenes right now.
Jay Tatum may have had a great time with the color black last week, but another so did South African creative director Trevor Stuurman. The fashion creative found inspiration in South Africa’s football culture as he wore a shirt and a pair of shorts made by South African brand Kasi Flavour. He added a twist to the casual look by wearing a jacket over the shirt and topped things off with a Simon and Mary straw hat and a pair of black and white brogues.
Last week, Black male celebrities and top influencers across the globe took their style further in both dark tones and bright spring-ready colors, and we’ve curated the best styles for your inspiration.
