Best Dressed List: Last Week, Stars Served Style À La Mode

Some occasions call for a three-piece suit while others simply call for an effortless casual drip. Last week, as Black male celebrities around the world tackled sporting events, at-home photoshoots and personal errands, one thing was evident; more men are agreeing that style is an important part of who we are.

Game day seem to be one of the most fashionably expressive days for basketball players. For the Houston Rockets versus Cleveland Cavaliers game, John Wall arrived the stadium in a statement sporty-casual outfit. Wall’s ensemble was a combination of a Kith jacket, a Moncler and Kith hoodie and a pair of blue track pants. The addition of a pair of Notre x Nike dunk sneakers upped the look and took it from elevated casual to a sporty high fashion affair. He finished the look with a pair of black sunglasses and of course, a face mask to stay safe.

Over in the motherland, South African photographer and creative director Trevor Stuurman confidently strode towards the statement accessories route. He pulled out all the stops to perfectly execute an à la mode look. Combining a subtly ripped pair of jeans with a white Matthew M Williams t-shirt, which he wore a black biker jacket over, Trevor delivered a look that was as classic as it was trendy. For shoes, he went with a pair of white Nike runners and accessorized with a Simon and Mary hat, a Christian Dior bag, a pair of dark sunglasses and a silver necklace.

Last week, Black male celebrities sought several variations of style, but one thing they all had in common was the intentionality of their style game.
