Last Week, We Confirmed That ‘Black’ Beauty Is Refreshing

The beauty word for last week is ‘refreshing’ because for each look we unraveled, it felt like a douse of fresh cold water on a hot summer day. We’re so excited to share these looks with you, hopefully, they refresh your week as much as they did ours.

Starting with bare faces, superstar Alicia Keys, and budding influencer Kelly Praise are our au naturel queens of the week. Alicia blessed us with a sleek updo and statement hoop earrings to frame her otherwise bare face while Kelly Praise literally and figuratively took us back to our roots. Beauty for you. Beautiful black women.

The Makeup

For a celebrity makeup artist, Bimpe Onakoya, it appears her motto has always been clean face beats. Well, with a finishing this clean, we are sure the model enjoyed the beat as much as we love to look at it. What is even more stunning about this look is the pearls around her head making for a crown. Effortlessly regal––we love it!

Last week, neutral faces also shone bright as top influencer, Kiitan shared a throwback photo from her past vacation. Her signature look is often a neutral face and sometimes a pop of lipstick color. In the shot she shared, the only pop of color needed came alive in the form of a sunflower prop. We can’t wait until we’re able to do vacations again soon. Thanks for reminding us what joy it can be, Kiitana. Beautiful black women.

Still on neutral beats, Celebrity stylist, Jeremiah Ogbodo, popularly known as Swanky Jerry, shared a look he styled of spa entrepreneur, Freda Francis for her birthday recently. We couldn’t help but fall in love with the minimalistic neutral makeup look look. Happy birthday, Freda, you looked delicious!

The Hair

Ever heard of the phrase “your hair is your precious crown of glory?” Yes? Well, this week we learn a tad differently. For celebrity hairstylist, Dionne Smith, as she shared a throwback image for one of her editorials, it was clear that the higher the hair, the closer to heaven. We certainly felt close to the skies with the skyscraper braided updo she blessed us with. Beauty for you.

There’s something about updos that just further structures the face and ensures that all your features pop, and Nigerian hairstylist, Solange Uzodike proved this further with the retro Hollywood hairstyle she created for her model.

Check out the best beauty looks from last week… Beautiful black women.
