Last Week’s Best Dressed Stars Served A Full Dose Of Sass And Confidence

H

ow can a person’s life be set up like a global blockbuster? Beyoncé might have the answers. Last week, she gave a tip in that regard at the Renaissance Film premiere. For the occasion, all ex-members of Destiny’s Child assembled in elegant ensembles, and so did most A-listers. (Duh, it’s Queen Bey). The silver carpet saw a high dose of metallics as the stars paraded in shimmers fashioned into unique representations. While other events like The Color Purple Movie premiere made a notable display of style, it was Bey who set off fireworks, bringing the week to a glistering finish.

The Looks

Singer, Victoria Monét showed up in a red dress from Theophilio to the Renaissance Film premiere, and she snapped. The mesh floor-length number featured a little train and a hoodie draped into a deep neckline. She paired it with a matching arm-length glove that upped the sass of the offering. The shimmery detail of the fabric made for perfection as it blended seamlessly with Monet’s skin tone.

Knitwear keeps you guessing. One minute you think you’ve seen it all, the next, it unravels a novel but welcome twist. We saw such a twist last week. Michelle Williams turned heads in a blue Coral Castillo knitwear dress with elaborate tassel details and a shoulder-padded cape that was every inch a show stopper. The star styled it with complementary thigh-high boots that hit hard. Indeed, Ms. Williams decided to slay and she delivered.

Lately, whenever we see Fantasia Taylor, it’s a style lockdown. With her signature pixie, the star keeps her style dynamic. She was spotted at the Color Purple Movie premiere in an ethereal off-white Christian Siriano draped number. The off-shoulders let her statement earrings and tattoo shine unhindered. Clearly, every day is dress-up day with Fantasia.
