Last Week’s Best Dressed Stars Told Tales Of A Red Carpet Extravaganza

T

o be a bore in a world full of intriguingly distinct fashion renderings may be considered an anomaly. Each individual holds the power to express tasteful manifestations of style and be met with acceptance. Last week, this truth was expressed in the diverse offerings of stylish celebrities at events like the GQ Men of the Year party and the Latin Grammy Awards. While some ladies spun tailored menswear-inspired pieces, others slipped into silhouette-flattering ensembles with quite a display of texture play. In all, it was a week of diverse fashion takes—all in submission to individuality

The Looks

We can unanimously agree to leave form-fitting cut-outs for the beautiful Chloe Bailey. For the GQ Men of the Year party, the singer shone in a Di Petsa latex number with an asymmetric draped train and ruched waistline. True to her statement-making personality, Bailey stacked clear, chunky bangles on the gloved sleeves and wore her signature waist-length braids for the culture.

Still at the GQ Men of the Year party, top model, Winnie Harlow pressed necks and the subjects willingly complied. Harlow opted for a Balmain ensemble featuring a tailored leather peplum jacket paired with matching bell-bottom pants. She vamped up the head-turning ability of the offering with an over-the-top hat and rightly finished off the look with Paris Texas boots, all in black. When you wear a head-to-toe leather ensemble and eat with no crumbs left, you’ve arrived at a certain level of style worthy of emulation.

At the Time 100 Impact Awards, that held at the Africa Kigali Convention Center, Rwanda, South African celebrity, Bonang Matheba was a sight in an ethereal Biji Couture number. The white wonder was baptized in large sequins that resembled scales and boasted a dramatic 360-structured detail that wrapped around her like a halo. Ironically, the heavily embellished dress gave off a calm aura, matching her prim and proper demeanor of the night.
