The Council of Fashion Designers of America – CFDA Awards – in partnership with Swarovski for the 17th year – took place on Monday night at the Brooklyn Museum for the first time ever and was hosted by funny girl Issa Rae. The ceremony is meant to acknowledge those who are killing it in a variety of fashion categories and is otherwise known as the biggest celebration of designers and their accomplishments on the fashion calendar.
The 2018 CFDA Awards hosted the biggest designers, tastemakers and fashion icons and it was an unforgettable affair. Being an event for fashion lovers, you can bet that celebrities didn’t disappoint on the eco-friendly red carpet which was made from recycled materials. From “Fashion Icon” Award winner, Naomi Campbell to Kourtney Kardashian who accompanied her sister, first-time “Influencer Award” winner Kim Kardashian West, a good number of stars did shine brightly in their outfits.
We were however quite unimpressed with Kim Kardashian’s open-back crop top and matching spandex maxi skirt custom designed by Rick Owens. For someone who won the influencer award, we were expecting a bit more.
