Budding womenswear brand Aisha Abu Bakr has released its Resort 2019 collection titled EMANA meaning ‘Rebirth’. The brand’s Creative Director, Aisha Abubakar hinted that she drew her inspiration for this collection from Nigeria’s socio-economic habitat.
According to her, the collection is most inspired by Nigerians, and in particular, their resilience, despite the country’s socio-economic challenges – and how they continue to innovate and evolve.
The collection is hinged on a mix of subtle and vibrant tones of orange, brown and white, soft silks and flowy mesh. The intricacy of fabric designs tells the story of the constant evolution of Nigerians. With the EMANA collection, the brand stays true to its identity as this collection exemplifies its focus on detailed aesthetics which appeals to the modern Nigerian woman.
