1. Wizkid announces new EP, Soundman 2
Wizkid took to Instagram on Tuesday, December 19, to announce the release of a new project, which seems to be Soundman Vol 2, the sequel to his 2019 project, Soundman Vol 1. Wizkid did not let out too many details and only announced that the project would be released on Friday.
2. LAPD investigates Michael B. Jordan’s car crash following video revelation
The Los Angeles Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the car crash involving Michael B. Jordan earlier this month. This comes in light of a recently surfaced video showing the Ferrari, reportedly driven by the “Creed III” star, racing another car before colliding with a parked car in Hollywood on December 2. Reports say that authorities are seeking to establish whether Jordan was indeed behind the wheel of the sports car during the incident. If the LAPD discovers any “criminal culpability” as they conclude their investigation, potential criminal charges may be pursued by prosecutors.
The emergence of a video depicting a red and a blue Ferrari engaged in what appears to be a race on Sunset Boulevard on the same night adds a new dimension to the ongoing investigation. The blue sports car swerved left and then sharply right, ultimately colliding with a parked Kia. Accompanying the video on Instagram is the caption, “Michael B. Jordan crashing out in Hollywood racing another Ferrari.” Initial reports indicated that there were no signs of foul play or DUI when officials arrived at the crash scene.

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., widely known as Shatta Wale, has expressed concern over the perceived decline in his country’s music industry. The self-proclaimed King of African Dancehall lamented the apparent contrast between the progress of Nigerian music and the dwindling state of the Ghanaian music scene. Shatta Wale, using his X platform on Sunday, December 17, noted that Nigerian music is on an upward trajectory, implying that Ghanaian musicians are struggling to keep pace with their counterparts across the border.
In a candid reflection, he acknowledged a substantial gap between the growth of the two music industries, emphasizing the need for a reinvigorated approach within Ghana to reclaim its competitive edge. This commentary comes on the heels of a coalition of Ghanaian musicians and industry executives converging to appeal to the Ghanaian government to prioritize the promotion of domestic music on national airwaves. This appeal was formally presented during the latest press briefing organized by the Ministry of Information.
4. Iyabo Ojo rejects ‘bully’ label amid Real Housewives of Lagos finale
Iyabo Ojo is clearing the air again on, among other things, why she stepped on Faith Morey’s dress in the first episode of Season 2 of the Showmax hit reality show, “The Real Housewives of Lagos.” The actress, who during this season became the villain, has come under heavy criticism for some of her actions that fans and other cast members of the show have termed “bullying.”
She said that the viral incident where she stepped on Morey’s dress was only for the show. She also added that she apologized to Morey for the act at the time. Ojo insisted that most of the scenes in which she was cold to Morey were all part of “giving a show.” She also clarified that the show is not entirely scripted, but it’s not entirely real-life either.
5. Neymar ruled OUT of Copa America 2024
🚨🇧🇷 Neymar Jr will be OUT of the Copa América 2024, confirms Brazil doctor Lasmar.
“It’s too early, there’s no point skipping steps to recover. Our expectation is that he will be prepared to return at the start of the 2024 European calendar, which is August”, told Rádio 98. pic.twitter.com/DWGwBehzYR

Brazilian superstar, Neymar is set to miss the 2024 Copa America due to the knee injury he suffered on international duty back in October. Neymar suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament while on international duty with Brazil and subsequently underwent surgery in November. It had been thought that the forward could potentially return in time for next summer’s Copa America, but those hopes have now been dashed by Brazil team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, who carried out the surgery.
He said, “It’s too early. There’s no point in skipping steps to recover sooner and taking unnecessary risks. Our expectation is that he will be prepared to return at the start of the 2024 season in Europe, which is in August.” Fans will likely have to wait until August to see Neymar back in action, while Brazil will have to find a way to cope without the superstar in the meantime. The Selecao are due to play a friendly against Mexico ahead of next summer’s Copa America on June 8, with Brazil’s first game scheduled for June 24.
