Clare Waight Keller Brings Precision and Softness to UNIQLO C Fall/Winter 2026 Collection

Clare Waight Keller has built a reputation across three decades on a particular kind of restraint, and the UNIQLO: C Fall/Winter 2026 collection gives us a clear look at how that design philosophy translates beyond the luxury houses where she made her name. At Chloé, she brought a romantic softness to the house’s bohemian codes. At Givenchy, she dressed Meghan Markle for her wedding and was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in 2019.
Since joining UNIQLO as its inaugural Global Creative Director in September 2024, Waight Keller has been applying that same precision to a different kind of challenge: making clothes that work for everyone at a price point that does not require a luxury budget. Titled “Precision of Softness,” the Fall/Winter 2026 collection is perhaps the clearest expression yet of what that approach looks like when it is working at its best.
The collection embraces volume, texture, and pops of color, pairing carefully considered silhouettes with soft, luxurious fabrics. The palette moves through rich bordeaux reds, autumnal browns, soft yellows, and blush pinks. At its core, “Precision of Softness” is less a marketing phrase than a design methodology built around the idea that softness, in both material and silhouette, requires the same rigor as tailoring. A slouchy cashmere knit that feels effortless in practice is often the result of decisions that are anything but. Waight Keller’s luxury training shows up in those details, even when the price tag does not reflect it.
UNIQLO C: The Knitwear and What Makes It Different

The knitwear is the centerpiece of the FW26 lineup, where Waight Keller’s hand is most visible. A new series of long-pile, fluffy cashmere knits provides increased warmth and softness across shallow V-neck silhouettes, crew-neck cardigans, and turtleneck vests, rendered in muted shades of pink, lemon, oatmeal, charcoal gray, and cream. These are not statement pieces in the conventional sense. They are the kind of garments that become non-negotiable once they enter a wardrobe, the ones reached for on the days when getting dressed should not require effort.
The HEATTECH Cashmere Blend series receives seasonal updates for the Fall/Winter 2026 season, adding rich bordeaux and brown tones alongside charcoal, blush pink, and green accents throughout the range. HEATTECH is one of UNIQLO’s most commercially significant proprietary technologies, and the decision to run it through a cashmere blend for UNIQLO: C gives the layering pieces a functional depth that sits well beneath the collection’s elevated aesthetic. These are clothes designed for actual winter, not just the idea of it.
Bottoms, Belts, and the Case for Corduroy

The bottoms category introduces fluid corduroy trousers fabricated from a newly developed lightweight fabric that addresses one of corduroy’s longstanding limitations: weight. Traditional corduroy carries a bulk that makes layering difficult and movement stiff. The new fabric retains the texture and warmth of corduroy while allowing the kind of relaxed drape that works with both the oversized knits in the collection and sharper tailored pieces worn underneath. A premium leather belt finished with a metal tip accompanies the trousers, and it is the considered accessory addition that changes how the whole outfit reads.
Historically, the strongest items in UNIQLO: C sell out within two to three weeks of launch, especially in popular neutral mid sizes. If a specific piece is on the list, the week it lands is the window. The SS26 collection moved quickly, and there is every reason to expect the Fall/Winter 2026 collection to follow suit, particularly given how directly the knitwear and corduroy pieces speak to the current appetite for elevated basics.
When to Shop and What to Know

The Fall/Winter 2026 UNIQLO: C collection releases officially on September 25, 2026, across UNIQLO channels globally. A pre-launch selection is already available in select markets. UNIQLO: C runs generous in sizing, which is intentional given the collection’s relaxed, dropped-shoulder silhouettes. The collection spans menswear and womenswear, with many pieces designed to work across both, continuing the genderless approach that has defined Waight Keller’s tenure at the brand.
For a designer whose previous work was priced for a very different audience, the UNIQLO: C project is an interesting one to track. Waight Keller is not diluting her design thinking to meet a mass market brief. She is applying it with equal care to a different set of constraints, and the FW26 collection suggests that discipline is producing consistently stronger results with each season. The full collection is available September 25 at uniqlo.com and in UNIQLO stores globally.
