She shared the photos with the caption “I built this for u mom. For all the prayers, all the encouragement, and support. Mummy I know you said u want a potable house and this is it. But forgive me because I must complete ur mansion for you next year. Don’t worry it won’t make us go to hell???? my super Christmas mummy. I love you.”

3. South Africa: Jerusalema hitmaker Master KG wins big at AFRIMMA 2020

South African musician and Jerusalema hitmaker, Master KG, dominated the 2020 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMMA) with four big wins. Like many global events, the All Africa Music Awards were held virtually on their YouTube page and was hosted by WFAA’s Tashara Parker.

The Limpopo-born star emerged the biggest winner of the night, taking home the honors for Artist of The Year Award, Song of The Year, Best Male Southern Africa as well as the coveted Best Collaboration for the Jerusalema remix featuring Nomcebo Zikode and Burna Boy. Rapper Eno Barony has been crowned the Best Female Rap Act in Africa at the 2020 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA). The self-acclaimed Rap Goddess beat nine other contenders across the continent to win the award.

These include Nakai (South Africa), Moonya (Senegal), Rosa Ree (Tanzania), Bombshell Grenade (Zambia), Muthoni Drummer Queen (Kenya), Askia (Cameroon), Candy Bleakz (Nigeria), Keko (Uganda), and Rouge from South Africa.

5. Liverpool’s Sadio Mane scores as Senegal qualify for AFCON finals

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane scored the winner for Senegal against Guinea-Bissau to book their place at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals. Mane scored in the 82nd minute after Jorge Nogueira was sent off in the second half for Guinea-Bissau. Senegal, currently the top-ranked country in Africa, is the second team to qualify after hosts Cameroon.

They have picked up a maximum of 12 points from four matches in Group I and qualify with two games to spare. Mane also scored a penalty in Senegal’s 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau in Thies on Wednesday.

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations has been postponed to January 2022 by the Confederation of African Football as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
