Tiwa Savage has added another accolade to her growing list by making her acting debut in “Water and Garri.” The singer/songwriter takes on the lead role of Aisha, a successful fashion designer in the US who returns to her homeland after 10 years away following a family bereavement. She returns to see that things have changed at home. The violence has escalated, and tensions are high. As she reconnects with family, old friends, and her past love, she must learn to live with her scars and confront the guilt she left behind.

In addition to starring in the film and serving as an executive producer, the singer wrote and performed the original soundtrack for the movie. Coincidentally, the film shares the same title as her 2021 EP of the same title. The movie, which was filmed in the city of Cape Coast, Ghana, has wrapped principal photography. The cast includes Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde.

Actor, filmmaker, and philanthropist, Tyler Perry will be donating $2.75 million to older homeowners in Atlanta to make sure that they will be able to continue to stay in their residences. According to reports, Perry connected with the city’s mayor, Andrew Dickens, about providing assistance to older residents in need who are on fixed incomes and could possibly lose their homes as a result of skyrocketing real estate taxes.

Perry committed to paying the back property taxes (city, county, and school taxes) for 300 low-income seniors in Atlanta, the outlet confirmed. He will also cover any increase in taxes over the next 20 years for 100 low-income older residents. The Madea star has already donated $750,000 for the first year to cover the back taxes and any increase in property taxes, and he has pledged $500,000 each year over the next four years to make sure that residents don’t pay any more in such taxes.

5. Pedri forced off injured in Barcelona’s Europa League play-off

Pedri had to be replaced in the first half of Barcelona’s European League clash with Manchester United at Camp Nou after picking up an injury. The 20-year-old had to be replaced before halftime, with Sergi Roberto entering for him. Pedri was able to walk off the pitch and go sit on the bench, but Barca will still be worried about his condition.

Xavi is already without captain Sergio Busquets and forward Ousmane Dembele due to injury and will not want to lose any more key players. Pedri is one of the first names on Xavi’s team sheet at Barcelona and is in good form, scoring four goals in his last eight matches for the Catalans in all competitions.
