n between the exciting (albeit, hectic) engagements lined up last week, Black celebs and influencers still managed to put their best faces forward. From New York Fashion week to Valentine’s Day pampering, there were clearly more than enough beauty adventures to land a spot on our list. The looks served comprised classic endeavors such as the red lipstick as well as more modern options like feathered brows which proved once again how far-reaching the best beauty inspirations can be if you only know where to look.

When Gabrielle Union decides to go subtle, she takes it to the line! Maybe because the actress is well aware of her enviable #skingoals or because she has mastered the art of toned-down slay, we don’t know. However, one thing we do know is that the mother-of-one understands what works and ups the game each time. Last week, she sent sizzles across our IG feed in a face beat so soft you’d think she had no makeup on. Of course, a look such as this requires a gentle pop and Union accomplished that with witchy lashes.
February 14th, and the days leading up to it, were indeed a red affair. While many don’t subscribe to the over-beaten symbolism of red and love, one can’t deny that when it’s done right, it’s a sight to behold. This was the case with Karrueche Tran as she donned red lipstick for Valentine’s day. The shade was the perfect play-partner for her skin as it undoubtedly elevated her “sexay” black dress with a pop. Tran embodied a fearless femme fatale and the red lipstick was the icing on the cake, thus, serving one of the best beauty inspirations seen last week.
