Nigerian model and winner of the Aquafina Elite Model Look Nigeria 2016, Davidson Obennebo emerges winner of the Elite Model Look 2016 World Final.
Last night, on the 23rd of November, history was made when Nigeria’s very own Davidson became the first black male model and Nigerian, of course, to win the prestigious modeling competition all through its 33 years of existence. Despite the fact that other black models like Victor Ndigwe and Mayowa Nicholas made it into the 2014 finals and since then become top international models, Obennebo’s win has put Nigeria on the international fashion scene once again.
The young model took to his Instagram page to announce his victory, thanking God and everyone else who made it possible especially the fans who voted saying:
Where do I start from, words cannot describe how overwhelmed I feel, I still can’t describe what happened on the night of the 23rd of Novemeber in campo pequeno Lisbon, Portugal, a legend was born and history was made…”
As part of his prizes, Davidson Obennebo who’s managed in Nigeria by Elohor Aisien’s Beth Models, will be signed to Elite Models International, kickstart his career as an international model by featuring in fashion campaign and shows for top industry brands alongside a 6-figure amount cash prize.
Notable past contestants include Alessandra Ambrosio, Cindy Crawford, Melania Trump, and Gisele Bündchen,
