Nigerian female celebrities and influencers stepped out in two main types of looks this past weekend: the glitzy “don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me” crew and the casual glam set made up of posh, colourful or minimalist looks.
Actress Ini Dima-Okojie’s avant-garde, mono-sleeve monochrome look was her take at the “Eko for show” theme for the Bling Lagosians movie premiere. Linda Osifo brought her curves to the show as she also attended the premiere of the Nollywood film with a release date of June 28.
Top influencer and beauty entrepreneur Chioma Ikokwu made a pretty case for yellow and white as she tapped the vivacity of a yellow felt hat and a matching ALAÏA bombe Ambre satin studded sandals to add even more oomph to her statement shirt dress. Jennifer “TheLadyVhodka” Oseh reminded us that yellow and orange have way more than a primary/secondary colour relationship and for that, we’re thankful.
Here are the best celebrity and influencer looks we spotted this past weekend…
Glitzy Glam
Ini Dima-Okojie
We don’t know what we enjoy most, the gorgeous striped sleeve/neck scarf detail or the head wrap, but why do we have to choose when the entire look is simply rave-worthy! Celebrity Weekend Looks
Toke Makinwa
Bloody haute! This monochrome lewk has got us down on one knee. From the red lips to the lace bodice down to the glossy heel, Toke’s ensemble screams: picture perfect!
Idia Aisien
Idia Aisien was made for the limelight! And even if there were no lights, she would bring hers. Just see how those sparkles are bringing attention to that hot leg!
Linda Osifo
Beyond the stellar aspect of the jumpsuit, this look has enough going to keep it interesting – sight the sleeve and the details on the fabric.
Bisola Aiyeola
When the code says “Eko for show,” trust Bisola to show up like a true Lagosian ready for an owambe. The train and your not so regular sleeves took this dress from regular to rave-worthy. Celebrity Weekend Looks
Casual Chic Celebrity Weekend Looks
Chioma Ikokwu
Nothing gives a more summery feel as yellow does. The colour makes every colour it is paired with pop. Chioma’s shirt dress with the details and the pop of colour is exactly what we need in our summer collection right now.
Sharon Ooja Egwurube
Hello, interesting patterned dress! This is the style idea we didn’t know we needed.
Tracy Nwapa
A checkered print would always remind us of secondary school uniforms but this skirt with asymmetrical ruffled hem screams uber stylish. Pairing it with an interesting blouse that features the juliet sleeves was all we needed to make the weekend a stylishly interesting one. Thank you, Tracy!
Jennifer Oseh
Jennifer Oseh’s style is in a class by itself, but we’ve said that before. This literally has to be the most inspiring look from this weekend thanks to how beautifully the colours are combined.
Kika Osunde
Floral fashion is never out of trend and is synonymous with Spring/early Summer. Instead of reaching for that solid coloured dress, why not switch things up with an interesting floral print like Kika’s. We love the way she kept her accessories simple to let the dress take centre stage.
