3. South Africa: Cassper Nyovest admits that he ‘regrets’ his beef with AKA

Cassper Nyovest has reflected on his longtime nemesis AKA. Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was shot dead on February 10. His murder is under investigation. During a recent sit down on “The Episode podcast,” Nyovest spoke about their impact on the South African music scene. When asked whether he had any regrets about his relationship with the late rapper, he responded: “Of course now because [he’s gone], but we were just in the moment and I think we were all at the moment.” Cassper revealed the two recorded music together and spoke of how he hoped to make amends with AKA in a boxing match.

“I thought we were going to get into the boxing ring and handle it there. I thought after that we would be OK and make music. Well, we do have music together that people have never heard. We made a few records together.” Despite their differences, Cassper said he was content with the legacy they left in the music industry together.

4. Actor Hill Harper announces his plan to run for Michigan’s US Senate seat

Hill Harper is ready for the next phase in his career — and it’s not in the entertainment industry. On Monday, July 10, “The Good Doctor” actor announced he will be running for a U.S. Senate seat in Michigan as a Democrat. The veteran storyteller shared the news on social media in a video dedicated to his son, Pierce Hill Harper. In the clip, Hill began by delivering a message to Pierce about why he is running for political office. During his speech, Hill spoke on issues around the country, his achievements, and his plans for the future of Michigan.

With his announcement, the “CSI: N.Y.” star joins a primary field that includes Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who announced her candidacy in February. They will all vie to take over the seat occupied by retiring Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

5. David De Gea exits Manchester United

David De Gea has left Manchester United after failing to agree terms on a new contract. The Spanish goalkeeper leaves Old Trafford as a free agent after 12 seasons at the club. De Gea revealed his exit on social media, writing: “I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters. I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. I took incredible pride every time I pulled on this shirt. To lead the team, to represent this institution – the biggest club in the world – was an honor only bestowed upon a few lucky footballers. Now it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.

“It’s been an unforgettable and successful period since I came here. I didn’t think, from leaving Madrid as a young boy, we would achieve what we did together. Manchester will always be in my heart. Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me. We’ve seen it all.”
