Last Week’s Best Dressed Men Were A Masterclass In Tailored Cool

Celebrities never run short on reasons to show up and show out—and last week was no exception. From the glitz of the 2025 Tony Awards to the buzz surrounding the premiere of Straw, Tyler Perry’s latest Netflix collaboration, red carpets were alive with energy. Yet beyond the flashing cameras and velvet ropes, it was the fashion looks from Black men that truly stood out. This week, they continued to push the envelope, blending sharp tailoring with unexpected details.

The Looks

Damson Idris brought his A-game with a look that was equal parts stylish and statement-making, thanks to the Tommy Hilfiger APXGP Collection. Inspired by the thrill of Formula 1, he rocked a black leather varsity jacket adorned with bold gold and white racing motifs, including the APXGP logo and signature Hilfiger accents. The structured silhouette and high-octane graphics gave the look a confident, athletic edge. Meanwhile, wide-legged white trousers and sleek black shoes introduced contrast and polish. The result? A sharp fusion of sport and luxury—clean, calculated, and effortlessly cool.

Tyler Perry was a sight at the premiere of Straw, stepping out in one of the most compelling men’s fashion looks of the week. His contemporary Amiri suit struck the perfect balance between elegance and artistry. The black double-breasted ensemble featured a bold white abstract pattern, adding texture and visual intrigue. Wide-legged trousers and an open-collar white shirt replaced the usual tie, giving the outfit a timeless yet refreshingly relaxed edge. Anchored by classic black dress shoes, Perry’s look exuded creative sophistication and the kind of quiet confidence that defines modern red carpet style.

Burna Boy stepped out in a full Louis Vuitton denim set that radiated retro cool. The monogrammed jacket and matching wide-leg pants paid homage to vintage glam, especially with the exaggerated white collar and turned-up cuffs. But it was the details that sealed the deal. Black gloves, pointed shoes, oversized sunglasses, and a show-stopping watch—all signature Burna flair. Mixing streetwear edge with luxury finesse, the look was unapologetically stylish and full of personality.
