Jada Pinkett Smith is getting candid about her long-time relationship with her husband, Will Smith. On Tuesday, Jada appeared on the cover of PEOPLE in anticipation of her forthcoming memoir, “Worthy,” on shelves on October 17. In her book, Jada Pinkett Smith made a startling revelation that she and Will Smith have been separated since 2016. “We’re still figuring it out,” she said of the current state of her union with the Oscar winner.
“We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.” In 1997, Will and Jada tied the knot in Baltimore on New Year’s Eve and were quickly thrust into the spotlight as the new “It” couple. Still, after nearly 20 years of marriage and fresh news of their separation, they remain legally married.

Afrobeats is gaining recognition, receiving nominations and dominating charts all around the globe. Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, was nominated for seven categories at the BET Hip-Hop Awards but lost all seven nominations. The BET Hip-Hop Award show took place on October 3 but was broadcast on October 10. The African Giant received nominations for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Collaboration (Sittin’ on Top of the World ft. 21 Savage), Best Live Performer, Song of the Year, Hustler of the Year and Lyricist of the Year.
Kendrick Lamar went home with the most awards of the night, while Ice Spice won Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist. Black Sherif has become the second Ghanaian artist to clinch the Best International Flow award, a category previously dominated by Sarkodie.

Black Coffee continues to break records and make history. The 47-year-old has become the first South African to have a sold-out performance as the main headline at the Madison Square Gardens in New York City, a venue that has a 20,000-seat capacity in the Big Apple. Black Coffee shared the news on X this past weekend. “We did it. 🇺🇸 #soldout,” he wrote on X.
The show reportedly featured a 12-piece orchestra and a 360-degree stage setup. Coffee also featured other South African artists such as Major League DJz, Bucie, and Msaki.

2023 American breakout sensation Ice Spice has announced that she has a collaboration with Rema. In a post on X, formally Twitter, on October 11, Ice Spice revealed that she has a song with Rema titled “Pretty Girl.” The announcement has generated excitement among fans who are eager to hear what the collaboration between Ice and one of Nigeria’s foremost talents would sound like. Wayne Rooney has been confirmed as Birmingham City’s new manager after the club sacked John Eustace this week, despite the club sitting sixth in the Championship. Rooney left his head coach role at MLS outfit DC United earlier this month after they missed out on the playoffs. And he’s stepped right back into management for his second crack at the championship. Birmingham confirmed that Rooney has joined on a three-and-a-half-year contract. He will be joined by Ashley Cole and John O’Shea, both of whom Rooney knows well from his playing days with England and Manchester United.
