Beauty trends are evolving faster than many can catch up, and while you don’t have to follow every trend that shows up, some trends are very beneficial and wouldn’t hurt adapting. One of such is the tamed brows. Gone are the days when you had to needlessly wrestle your eyebrows to keep them in check all day. With this new trend, all you have to do is apply a few things to your brows and you’re set for the day. Yup, it’s as easy as that!

Regardless of whether you like to leave your brows thick and in their natural state, or you do some trims here and there, the tamed brows trend will work for you. Celebrities like Serena Williams, who is also famous for her full brows almost as she is for her tennis skills have also hopped on this trend. Don’t be the only one left out.

Tamed brows aren’t just for ladies blessed with thick, full brows. Certainly not! Even the girls with sleek barely-there can also benefit from the miracle of taming. In essence, tamed brows are the prerequisite for maintaining a coordinated face card all through the day as the lack of stray hairs dancing all over the place ensures your card never declines! That is to say, regardless of the nature of your brows, every girl can indeed benefit from taming.

Check out 5 steps to achieving tamed eyebrows like a real pro…

#1. Trim stray hairs

Team don’t-touch-my-brows, before you irk at the thought of snipping off part of your brows, hear me out. You don’t necessarily have to carve away half of your brows, all you need do is remove those extra-long hairs that are growing out of shape. Also, when trimming, stick to your eyebrows’ natural arc, because following nature’s path is the best way to do this right.

#2. Fill in the gaps

Of course, it’s very natural to have some exposed spaces in between your eyebrow hairs. Since we are looking to tame your brows so they last all day while still looking natural, this step is essential. You don’t want to walk around with brows that appear unproportionate. To do this well, use a brow filler to draw in strands of hair in between your brows. Do this wherever you can see an empty space. That is to say, you’ll be filling in the gaps.

Tip: Use light, upward strokes to fill in spaces with your brow pencil. Once done, brush your brows (again, using upward strokes) with the spooled brush to blend in the strokes.

#3. Line your brow shape

Now is when most ladies get confused. At this point, you’ll be defining your brow shape with your brow pencil. Draw a line under your brows as well as above them. This will make your ‘creation‘ look natural. As usual, the best way to get this done correctly is to follow the natural arc of your brows. After this, use your brow brush to gently brush upwards and downwards. This smudges and blends the outline into your brows. Consequently, mimicking your natural eyebrows.

Tip: Use a finely sharpened pencil for this process. It will create the lines smoothly and very visibly. Usually, 2-3 strokes should be fine to avoid unrealistic-looking eyebrows.

#4. Use gel to tame brows

This is the secret to taming your eyebrows like a pro. After drawing in your pencil, the next step is to use a brow gel to hold it all in place. I guarantee you that no strand of hair will escape until you take off your makeup at night. You can either use a clear gel or a tinted one, you will still get the desired results.

#5. Conceal

Finally, use a concealer a shade lighter than your skin to clean up the edges of your brows. That is the lower and upper parts. Make sure to blend completely.
